Well, Yesterday after I asked a question I looked at the Question and noticed no points created next to my name. So I wondered why there was no points for meta. And im still wondering that.
It was easier that way, because meta and pokebase are two different copies of the app but share the users.
Plus I thought it was better for people to only get points for answering Pokemon questions, not site-related questions.
