How many Points do you need to become an Editor on the Meta/RMT/Pokebase? (Or is it 6000 for all three?)

I've just read the official (I think) post outlining the ranks and privileges and it says that to become an editor you need 10k points, has it been changed?
The thread's exact wording is that you "typically need" 10k points. We've promoted Editors below 10k before, so it isn't concrete, but still generally stands. The answer below is correct though, primarily they're hand-picked with points being an afterthought.
