Pokemaster, are you sure this is right?

It says on route 206 it is common to find a ponyta there, but it took me a long time(about 20mins)to find one

If you are playing Platinum then it is only common during the day. In the morning or evening it's less common. Also there are a lot of Pokemon on that route so "common" might only be around 1/5 on average, and uncommon a bit less.

And you may have just been unlucky. If you keep running around you could run into several Ponyta in succession.
