I have some external links that I would like to have in my 'about me' section but I can't because it says I need to use spaces. I'm guessing this means that the site doesn't register the links as links and thinks that I am just typing nonsense without using spaces, and that isn't allowed, or that the links are too long.
I have the links on my wall, but I would like to be able to post them in my 'about me' section so that I can open my wall to allow other users to post on it. I think I saw some links on other peoples profiles, but for one reason or another I can't seem to do it myself.

Is there a way I can put the links there?

No you can't. Some people have these on their walls that's right, but they don't work either.
Pokemaster probably needs to fix this though.....
But yeah what can you do about it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm pretty sure that you can use a link shortener, such as bit.ly, to make it work.
I could try a shortener but SYL was right that they don't work anyway, so it's not really worth it. I was going to make this a suggestion but we aren't supposed to make just a single suggestion unless it's substantial, and posting links isn't a big deal. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. Thanks.

The hyperlink function might be suppressed on purpose. If they were allowed then you could make spam accounts and dump links in your profile. May be an issue, depending on whether we want to host SEO abusers in the underground. Pokemaster would probably have some more insight.

In general though, it is impossible to post links on your profile. As above, links are removed entirely from profiles, as is any other formatting you might use to circumvent it (e.g. using an <a> tag).

Fair enough.
