Swearing on database?

Question

I understand Pokémon database is kid-friendly. As such, what is its stance on swearing? Can you get banned for cursing? What about slurs like the n-word or the the second syllable of Confagrius? What about the db showdown server?

Not really. I’m asking when it is or isn’t ok to swear on Database or db showdown. I’m not asking about WHY it doesn’t allow swearing in some cases. Anyways, Pokemaster’s answer to that question doesn’t answer MY question

I feel like "we don't allow swearing" explains pretty well that swearing is almost never okay here.

The link Hellfire Taco posted answers most of your question. In terms of what's bannable... well since swearing is censored there wouldn't be much call to ban someone for using it occasionally. Anyone going overboard may be warned though, and potentially banned if it continues.

I don't moderate the Showdown server and I don't remember if there is a censor on there. But again, being overly rude can lead to a ban.

Certain words don't seem to be censored though. I'm guessing that's because 'damn' and 'crap' aren't that bad.

Don't concern yourself too much with the Showdown server. Nobody with auth there is interested in banning you for swearing. More so if you're just a really terrible presence -- I guess swearing can relate to that. In general, if you like your internet really sanitary, probably don't go to our server.
In terms of what's banned here, I could say words like 'ass' if I wanted. Just haven't found the need haha
