Why do you sometimes ban people without answering the "why were you banned" thread (or suspect testing them)?

Personally, I'm not really interested in using that thread anymore. I'd rather bans not be an overly public thing unless they come directly into conversation like they did here.
If anyone is ever curious what happened, you can always send me a wall message. But I don't have much use for that thread right now.
