Alright, so I've been on this site for a while, and I've seen it go through a handful of site redesigns and overhauls in my time, usually around the same time things start getting stale. With this in mind, as I was looking back on this site and its history, I realized we've had almost the exact same layout since at least 2012. Yeah I know there was a site redesign in 2018 but design wise, very little changed, so it no longer counts and I decree it as such. This is why, for this sites 12th year in existence, I propose we go through a major overhaul, to make things more lively again. Let me walk you through the new and improved Pokemon Database 5.0
New features:
- The background for the entire site will be a very bright red, and all text will be highlighter yellow and in comic sans. You cannot change it back to the old layout.
- The front page will cease to exist, along with all dropdown menus, search bars, and relevant links. In its place is just the site map, and you have to navigate through there each time you want to get to a specific page.
- Profile pictures will no longer be set up through Gravatar. Instead, you will only get the option to pick between one of 6 new profile pictures. These new 6 pictures will include a picture of Hellfire Taco holding a banjo, this one cool bug I saw once at my grandparents house, and this specific picture of Kanye West.
- In addition to the Pokebase, Meta, and RMT sections, there will now be a section of the site devoted to questions about DIY plumbing repair.
- The Scizor and Zeraora in the site banner will be changed to a picture of Marselo, the mascot of Chilean lottery Kino 5, and Hank Hill from King of the Hill, respectively.
- User walls will be replaced with a picture of a brick wall that cannot be deleted or modified in any way.
- The only images that can be uploaded to the site will be JPEGs, which will then be heavily compressed.
- Only one message can be viewed at a time in chat; once someone sends a new message in chat, the first is instantly deleted.
- Fizz's new name is now Fizztopher, both on the site and irl.
- and so much more!
I've prepared a mockup for you guys down below, so feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions! Unless they are bad and stupid thoughts and suggestions in which case then I do not want them.
