Suggestion: Reward users +2 points for upvoting a post.

This used to be a thing in the site's early years, but it's safe to say it probably won't be coming back, sorry. Losing points for downvoting is meant as a deterrent for spam voting. Giving points for upvoting would be the exact opposite of a deterrent, and point values would inflate tremendously.

Tl;dr no.

In simpler words, people would upvote a lot more - or even spam upvote for gaining points - resulting in everyone having a lot more points, and points in general would lose their value (that is, an "inflation"). We would have to create higher point requirements for privileges, which would be chaotic.

Yeah; it used to be a thing, but it was removed from being abused. That’s why on old threads there’s so many upvotes on low quality q&a’s
