Meta-PokéBase Q&A

I just spent like half an hour if not more writing a really good, long answer, (I know, I was surprised too. "good?") and right when I was about to finish, I accidentally clicked a link that sent me to a Pokédex page. I went back, but my answer was gone.

There are probably some browser extensions you can use that will remember form data (such as the contents of the answer box) when you click off the page.

Unfortunately, this site does not have an autosave feature or save feature of any sort. If it's been deleted before it's posted, it's gone-gone for good without having any other type of external software. This has been something we've all experienced at some point.

When I'm writing long answers, I usually copy it multiple times, or even write it in a document, like Microsoft, Google Docs, or Notepad. You can always post an answer early and edit it, too -- Just make sure it answers the question first before doing that.

Important mention:

There are probably some browser extensions you can use that will remember form data (such as the contents of the answer box) when you click off the page.

According to Pokemaster, a pop-up warning "will definitely be done at some point."

I'll say that on mobile, I can accidentally click a link, refresh my tab, close chrome, and the text box will still be there withy text in it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@monkey, im curious, what phone are you using? It doesn’t on mine when refreshing. Going back to the page it seems to work for me.
