Enoch's Sky Warriors

Hello, and welcome to the RMT. To begin, RIGHT CLICK "OPEN NEW TAB" PLEASE,.

Intoduction

Greetings Pokemon Database users. Please allow me to introduce to you "Enoch's Sky Warriors", my Mono Flying team of the Monotype tier.

This team was created during the beginning of Black / White 2 Beta on Pokemon Online, when the Therian Forms of the Legendary Weather Trio were released. With both a desire to test the Therians and my interest in the Monotype tier, this team came to be. Tested once or twice, this team became a memory as a team that saw little use after unsuccesful matches.

However, the team began to be used again after I was challenged to Monotype, and has since then my primary Monotype. Since then, after many challenges, the team has scaled to #42 (on the PO ladder).

The Team

Landorus-T (M) @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 8 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 244 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

The Lead of the team, Landorus-T is an important part of team, serving multiple roles. The Puma can function as a Scouter, Physical Sweeper, Revenge Killer, and a pseudo-counter to Physical Attackers. With the Intimidate ability, he has the capability of hindering any Physical Attackers who land neautral damage, screwing over set-ups, and valued most of all, it can be annoying. The Choice Scarf transforms him into a spry physcial attacker. U-turn allows him to hit-and-run, and escape those dangerous Ice and Water type attacks. The combination of Earthquake + Stone Edge provides him excellent coverage, while Superpower will leave a dent in whatever it hits. His Jolly grants him the much needed speed, as his Speed is mediocre.

Tornadus-T (M) @ Choice Specs

Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 16 HP / 16 Def / 236 SAtk / 240 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Air Slash / Hurricane
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast
- U-turn

Tornadus-T serves no particular Role, although he can function as a Late Game Sweeper, Special Attacker, Scouter, etc. Gifted in the area of Speed, the Choice Specs compliments the Eagle well. The Timid Nature allows him to outspeed the majority of Pokemon without the Choice Scarf. U-turn provides nice pivot synergy with Landorus-T. Although Hurricane is preferred for power, Air Slash is always an alternate option for a better chance to hit. Hidden Power Ice and Focus Blast is used for coverage. Although an excellent addition to the team, Moltres has been considered as a replacement due to his ability to combat Mono Ice teams, which are the most challenging for this team to face.

Thundurus-T (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 8 Def / 244 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Agility
- Substitute

Thundurus-T is my trump card. He performs the Special Sweeper role, and is my Choice Scarf Genesect and Mamoswine counter (as surprising as it may sound). With the Leftovers equipped, he won't kill himself setting up Substitute, and allows him to restore health gradually as he sweeps, just in case of a Priority attack. Thunderbolt + Hidden Power (Ice) provides Thundurus-T with a pseudo BoltBeam combination. Next are his staples: Agility, a remedy to that low Speed, and Substitute ensures that he cannot be revenged by Mamoswine or Genesect. This guy is, second to only Landorus-T, is the MVP, and one of the main reasons to ragequit.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Moxie
EVs: 236 Atk / 44 Def / 228 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Dragon Dance

Gyarados is the teams main Physical Sweeper, and can also function as a Tank due to his typing. Forming great Typing synergy with Thundurus-T's and Landorus-T's Ice type weakness with his *4 weakness to Electric type attacks, it allows the two to switch in fairly easily. He is Jolly Natured to give him Sweeping potential after a Dragon Dance or two. Waterfall is his primary STAB attack, and Earthquake and Ice Fang are used for coverage. Dragon Dance is the crux of this set, as it boost him to both the Speed and Power needed to sweep. And don't forget Moxie. Entire teams are murdered due to it.

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 116 HP / 8 Atk / 196 Def / 188 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Drill Peck
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Whirlwind

Does Skarmory really need to be explained? The Steel Bird performs the "Launcher" Role, which is the Pokemon that sets up or "launches" Entry Hazards, and also the Phazer role as well. The EV spread is an attempt at a Mixed Wall, and works well, surviving a Hidden Power Fire from Latios. Stealth Rocks and Spikes damage Pokemon in the air and on the land, and allows him to deal damage with Whirlwind. Drill Peck is his STAB attack, and the move used when Taunted. Don't laugh, Drill Peck KO's a Breloom after Sleep Clause is activated.

Xatu (M) @ Light Clay

Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 212 HP / 36 Def / 36 SDef / 224 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Confuse Ray
- Roost

Performing the MOST important Role on the team, Xatu functions as the Status Mirror, the Pokemon who reflects Entry Hazard's, Will-o-wisp, Thunder Wave / Glares, Toxic / Poison Powders, Taunts, and of course, Breloom's Spores. Due to the Magic Bounce ability, he also performs the Ragequit role, as it is extremely annoying to have it reverse the omnipresent Entry Hazards and Breloom's / Amoongus' Spore. With the Light Clay equipped, Xatu sets up Reflect and Light Screen to assist the team's frail sweepers. Confuse Ray is to, well... Confuse the foe, and allow him to set up screens or help his team set up and decimate. Roost is Xatu's form of recovery. What can I say, this guy is a MUST on any Mono Flying team!

Conclusion

This team is one of the best teams that I have created, and officially my most used team. Many of you may be familiar with this team already; you may have either faced it or have seen it in action. I hope that you have enjoyed reviewing it as much as I have creating and using it.

Counters

*Mamoswine: Mamo is a monster. With access to a powerful Super-effective Ice Shard and base 130 attack, he hits first and KOes before an Member other than Gyarados or Thundurus-T (Substitute applied) can retaliate.

*Genesect: I hate this thing so much. With High Speed due to the Choice Scarf or Rock Polish, this Special Cannon can spam Ice Beam to murder the entire team.

*MONO ICE TEAMS: Very few times has this team won against one. Unless Mamoswine or Choice Scarfed Froslass are KOed, the probability of this team winning is very low.

NOTE: If this team is duplicated and used by any other than myself, be sure to name it "Eleazar: 'Enoch's Sky Warriors' ".

I see one problem already. With Skarmory gone, you are royally screwed against Aron in mono rock teams. Use more priority.
Thanks for the sprites, Mew :3
Piece of beauty. +1.
Thanx!
lol I love how simple it is. I mean all you did was take the Theron firms if the genie trio, one of OU's premier physical walls, one of OU's deadliest sweepers, and the most annoying flying type EVER. It's do simple yet so deadly and effective. I love it, +1
Appreciate the feedback.
+7. Wowzah xP
I know lets make it +8!
There. Now there is proof.
good one honestly but take out gyarados and keep sigilyph
Thx Blob. I was just about to tell him to do that. And thx for the answer, but we don't do one sentence answers on this site. And another Physical Sweeper is needed over a Special as this team has only one other, Lando, and he is locked into one move due to Choice Scarf, and Skarmory doesn't count. Next time you answer, explain why, and clarify. And have you seen this thing in action? It sweeps teams like ni no ones business.
Take out gyardos? WHAT!!!
9 Upvotes anyone? 10!?
that point grub
There now the damn titke looka decent.
This Ubers monotype :3
Tornadus-T isn't Banned in Monotype. Along with Genesect and Thundurus Incarnate.

Unfortunately, that makes Monotype harder.
I would downvote this more than once if I could. It is shameful asking for more and more upvotes
