Pokémon Rate My Team

Hey, guys. As many of you know, I'm a terrible UU player, mostly because my recent team almost never won. Lately, UU got some jewels from the OU and RU tiers, namely Virizion and Cofagrigus. When I discovered that, I decided to try to make a team around Relic Song Meloetta. Problem is, he caused way too many synergy problems. I decided then to make a team around Virizion, who I've been using with much success in DW OU since at least 3 months now. I accidently came up with an Offensive core, ViriDoom, by adding Houndoom as a Chandelure counter. I have been told that my core would get raped by Heracross, who is #1 in UU usage. So I decided to add Tornadus, who is another Pokémon that dropped from OU. I then added Cofagrigus as a Defensive Pokémon. I had one spot left, and many people repeatedly saying that I had a Honchkrow problem. Problem is, I wanted a Defensive core with Cofagrigus who could resist to Flying-attacks. I then gave up the dream of making a Defensive core and chose Magneton, who is my wild card and a very unexpected but great Pokemon. I'd like someone who has some experience in UU to answer. Here's the team!

Virizion

Virizion @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 104 Atk / 152 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Work Up
- Close Combat
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Ice]

I've been wanting to try Mixed Virizion for quite a while now. So here it is. Work Up is a nice move, boosting both Special Attack and Attack by one stage. Close Combat is my primary STAB, and damn, it hurts at +1. Giga Drain is STAB as well and is reliable health recovery. HP Ice hits those damn Flying types for super-effective damage, and can OHKO at +2.

FemaleHoundoomFTW

Houndoom (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Chandelure counter FTW. I wanted something to counter it Defensively AND Offensively, something that Pursuit Snorlax and Trace Porygon2 fail to do. With Flash Fire, he can switch in on Chandelure menacing Virizion or Magneton. He can then counter-strike with STAB Pursuit, usually ending Chandy's reign of terror. Sucker Punch is hard-hitting STAB and OHKO'es when super-effective. Unless it's Cofagrigus, that Defensive boss. Fire Blast is awesome STAB while HP Grass covers up all of his weaknesses apart one.

Tornadus

Tornadus (M) @ Flying Gem
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Bulk Up
- Acrobatics
- Brick Break

Since the tier updates just recently happened, most people do not know what to expect from this bad boy. I actually fell in love with this set while spectating an UU game on Showdown!. I was surprised by this set's efectiveness, and how it shuts down Heracross locked into Close Combat or Megahorn. Substitute is usually the first move I use. Bulk Up makes his Substitute harder and harder to break, especially with Prankster making it go first. Flying Gem Acrobatics is STAB, and with Flying Gem is still there, it usually OHKO'es. Even after the Gem dissapears, it hits extremely hard, especially after a Bulk Up boost. Brick Break is nice coverage against Ice and Rock types, and it OHKO'es Weavile when behind a Sub (To avoid Ice Shard, of course.).

Swampert

Swampert (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Stealth Rock

Swampert may have not been mentioned on my description but he's by no means useless. Fulfilling the important role of Hazards setter, he offers quite a bunch of handy resistances such as an immunity to Electric types and a resistance to Rock types, making a pretty good core with Tornadus, who resists to Swampert's sole weakness, Grass. Waterfall is STAB, and with Adamant Nature and maxed out Attack EVs, hits hard. Same for Earthquake. Roar is also an important move, making Swampert a good phaser as well. Stealth Rock has the obvious role of Entry Hazards. which are very useful in UU.

Cofagrigus

Cofagrigus (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Mummy
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
- Haze
- Rest

Well, he's my only Defensive Pokémon, and since he's new in UU, I thought I could give him a chance. He's doing his job wonderfully, shutting down every single Physical attacker except Houndoom, who doesn't give a crap about his attacks. Cofagrigus acts as my wonderful TechniPom (Technician Ambipom) counter. Cofa can switch-in on Fake Out, take no damage, take nothing from U-Turn and turning Ambipom's Ability into Mummy. Will-O-Wisp shuts down Physical Attackers, while Shadow Ball is there so he's not a Taunt bait and it's STAB. Haze is used to get rid of setup sweepers, mainly Kingdra. Rest makes Cofagrigus a pain to face, being a very reliable form of recovery.

Magneton

Magneton @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch

The last member of my team, my beloved Magneton. Having the 5th highest SAtk in UU, I wanted a good Honchkrow counter and a Flying-type resist. Here he is. Scarf + Maxed out Speed gives him a lot of Speed, and most people are surprised to see that their Pokémon are outspeeded by this magnet. Thunderbolt hits very hard, while Flash Cannon is my secondary STAB. HP Fire roasts trapped Steels, such as Bronzong, while Volt Switch makes me gain some momentum.

Well, thanks for reading all of the text I wrote, guys. I hope someone rates this, and I hope you like this!

Now youre speaking my tier, bro! I outta give a crack at NU one of these days..
Yeah, you should :P
"Jewels"
You don't even play UU that much.....
I can answer. But other users are more than welcome to, (and in every sense of the phrase at that(, because I am not the best UU player.
Can you really get your own format? It's irritating to me when I get copied.
..........Excuse me for trying to get some style in my Qs..... >.<
Wait, this format belong to somebody?
I've seen Spoink using it for a long time, and I used it some times as well...
No, it's the Italic text in the description, it annoys Mike when someone ''copies'' him.
I've used this format for a long time? If you mean putting descriptions on my teams then ok..
I thought Mike meant the description on the top thing lol
where else are you supposed to put it ._.
No, not really, every time I'd put the Italic format on the description, he'd edit it out. I don't mind taking it out, really, it just looks better.
JCM you have defiant on tornadus not prankster xD
Oooops O.O What's better for my set, Defiant or Prankster? xD
Defiant. Because there are Intimidate users in UU.
Qwilfish and Arcanine.
Oh, ok, thanks. And Mew, could you rate my team, pweese?
I don't know, because you can set up a Bulk Up first, meaning the taking of minimal damage from Scarfers and other faster Pokemon. And setting up a Sub first thing.
I'll test both of the Abilities out.
