So, this team isnt your average noob im-gonna-use-what-everyone-else-uses-in-rain type of team. Enjoy, as im very proud of this team :)
Shayminz (Shaymin) @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SAtk / 24 Spd
Modest Nature
- Rest
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earth Power
Alright, im first gonna start off with and give Blob and Mew some credit, as it was them from who i got the idea to use this. Rest is actually a decent strategy which lets you heal up on a prediction, switch out, and come back at full health, or close to it. Seed Flare is just amazing. it honestly trolls the majority of opposing rain teams. Poli has no safe switch in to it, Spinners such as Starmie, Tentacreul, and Donphan certainly don't sppreciate it, and Forretress doesn't have so much bulk to be taking a STAB + LO Seed Flare. Not only that, but it also helps me take out one of my biggest fears: Rotom-W. Not only does it help me absorb its Will-O-Wisp's/T-Wave's, bulky enough to take to take any Rotom-W attack, and just destroys it with Seed Flare. Here's some proof.
252SpAtk Choice Specs Rotom (+SAtk) Hidden Power (Ice) vs 232HP/0SpDef Shaymin(Neutral): 54% - 64% (216 - 256 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.
HP Ice is my back-up to be able to take on opposing flying types, and thus making me choose it over Air Slash. It let's me hit Thunderus-T very hard, any dragon, and Landorus-T/Gliscor, though the latter is easily taken out by a Seed Flare. after seeing all these threats are usually scarfed or like to set up, Shaymin provides the sufficient power and has just enough bulk to take some Super Effective hits. Finally, Earth Power let's me hit other stuff, such as the mighty steel types in opposing Rain teams and the mighty Heatran, which is pretty common, and Mew has scarred me for life by trolling me with a TormentTran (Thanks Mew). Only being resisted by Levitate Bronzong, the only real counters to this guy are Skarmory, and is usually taken care of easily by other team members. Shaymin <3
Trollrachi (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 236 SDef / 20 Spd
Careful Nature
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Wish
- Stealth Rock
Say hullo to my favorite SDef Jirachi set :). Any special attack, this guy can take (unless it's an Ember in the rain. Too OHKO for me >.>) So it serves as a support set, getting stuff paralyzed with Body Slam. After spreading some paralysis, we can go and troll with Iron Head, and cause some ragequits with this cheap strategy. If that isnt an option, i can always set up Stealth Rock and put some ease for our sweepers and not fear getting outsped. Wish is perfect to help me take Rachi our of the battle and placing a weakened pokemon in, or just help recover some Hazard damage. Nothing much to say about this wishmaker, other than he rocks :D
Polifrogger (Politoed) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
Well, this type of Politoed isn't seen to often (by me, at least), so i decided to give him a try. Full out Specs set lets me put a dent in a lot of stuff, especially with Surf. Now, you may see that Hydro Pump is superior, but i usually get PP stalled by crap, and i don't like that, so i went with the reliable, yet still strong choice. It lets me poop on all weather inducers, except for President Snow (Abomasnow... Hunger Games reference der) HP Grass is here, not only for opposing Poli's, Gastrodons, or water types, but it let's me take on the core i see more and more of: JelliSwine. Expecting a STAB water move, Jelli will be surprised to see how much Sexy Specsy Poli can do. Ice Beam is obviously not to take down dragons, as they will probably just laugh off my 3 other attacks. And finally, Focus Blast is to hit things such as Ferrothorn and Heatran, which, again, can really piss me off at times. This guy usually doesn't see to much action, unless it's a weather war, when with some prediction, this guy can dominate.
Lati (Latias) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 80 HP / 176 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Roost
- Dragon Pulse
- Thunderbolt
Well, only natural to see a dragon on an OU time, no? Anyways, i got a little tired of using the typical LO + 3 Attacks + Roost combo, and i really wasn't in the mood to use my favorite SubCM set, so i guess i decided to mix them both together. Substitute helps me do two things: Prevent getting statused and help me take out threats while they try to take my Sub down. Roost helps me out recovering some HP after Entry Hazards (in case Rachi's final Wish didn't get there in time) or just to SubRoost stall an opponent. Then, come my coverage moves. Dragon Pulse really hits hard against anything, and Thunderbolt helps me take on steel types, as well as taking down other steel types, barring Ferrothorn, who i can easily outstall if he doesn't carry Gyro Ball. Now, TBolt was chosen over Thunder just because i dont want to risk the chance of missing a Thunder in Sand or Rain, if my Poli has already been taken down.
Salad (Salamence) @ Life Orb
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Aqua Tail
"Wait a minute, 2 dragons in one team? Leboss, this isn't Ubers >.>"
I know, and tbh, it actually works having a Special + Physical dragon core. And this may seem like a weird set at first, but hear me out :) Outrage is obvious, not gonna go over that. Earthquake helps me take care of the one weather inducer Poli hates: Ninetales. Not only does it provide some godly coverage with Outrage, but it does a more-than-decent job at putting a dent in stuff, with the help of LO. Roost may seem weird, but when i can predict a pokemon switching out, i'll gladly heal up any Hazard damage or LO recoil that this guy has taken. Aqua Tail just gives me something to rely on in the rain, and does well at taking stuff such as Landorus-Therian out. This is one type of Salad that isn't healthy for you ;)
Empoleon (Infernape) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
Well, lets bring in the weather induder killer into the picture, eh? Flare Blitz is actually my first attempt at making this guy an all-out physical sweeper, so i gave it a try. Though i don't use it in the rain, Flare Blitz is perfect for this guy, as he is my usual lead, and i use him to as my most valuable pokemon to take out other weather. The recoil doesn't worry me too much, as a Wish from Rachi can usually reach this guy and heal him up. Close Combat is practically a must on this guy, as in a speed tie vs Terrakion, it's my only hope against it, and not to mention it's weather killing job of Tyranitar :3. Stone Edge helps vs Flying types, most notably Thunderus-T, and lets me hit Ninetales for some pretty nasty damage. Helps vs Dragons too, though i dont rely on it too much, especially with that accuracy. And finally, U-Turn is just a good ol scouting move.
