So recently, Enoch became my mono type tutor, after I got a bit bored of playing OU with the same old Pokemon dominating and what not. I was cruising through which tier I'd like to learn, and I ended up wanting to play monotype. When I saw Enoch in chat, I grasped my opportunity to ask him to be my tutor for monotype. As you can see in the title, I've had quite a decent score, with 118 wins and 32 losses. Also, you might like to watch the battle between me and Kyron here.

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature

  • Dragon Dance
  • Dragon Claw
  • Earthquake
  • Brick Break

Synergy:

>Ice: Gyarados, Skarmory
Rock: Skarmory, Landorus-T
Dragon: Skarmory
Electric: Landorus-T

Dragonite is normally my lead, unless it's a mono Ice hail team, where I lead with Tornadus. This is the standard Multiscale DD Draognite, so not much explaining here to do, only different thing is Brick Break, I guess... so anyway Dragon Dance is the crux of this set, which allows me to set up fast, and under Multiscale protection as well, Dragon Claw is my main STAB, better than Outrage as I usually lead with Dragonite, and I don't fancy Outraging too early in the game. Earthquake is for Rock types and Electric types which both threaten my team with their super effective attacks. And last but not least, Brick Break is for hitting Ice types, although I chose this over Fire Punch so that I can use it on the well used Walrein in mono Ice teams, as well as other Ice/Water types which run around.

Gyarados @ Wacan Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature

  • Dragon Tail
  • Thunder Wave
  • Sleep Talk
  • Rest

Synergy:

Electric: Landorus-T
Rock: Skarmory, Landorus-T

Probably the most important member of my team, Gyarados is the first phazer, but more importantly my Status inflicter. It also pulls off the Rest-Talk strategy very well, as it either paralyses, which supports my team mates, and also phases, as against Mono ice and Mono flying, my first priority is to get Landorus-T in there and get SR set up. Dragon Tail is for phasing, and dealing damage while asleep. Thunder Wave inflicts status and helps my bulky team function well. Sleep Talk, being the move part of the RestTalk allows me to use either of the two moves above, and Rest allows me to recover and cure myself of status. This also helps with RestTalk. The Wacan Berry is to weaken a super effective Electric Type attack coming at me.

Crobat @ Expert Belt
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature

  • Taunt
  • Air Slash
  • Hidden Power [Fighting]
  • U-turn

Synergy:

Rock: Landorus-T, Skarmory
Psychic: Skarmory
Ice: Skarmory, Gyarados
Electric: Landorus-T

So Crobat is just a boss. It's fantastic speed allows it to stop set-up sweepers with Taunt before they can even get to +1, and also stops Pokemon from setting SR up, which could potentially lose me the match. It acts as a sweeper, and also a Pokemon that forces switches, especially to Pokemon that are Taunt bait with no attacking moves. Taunt, as explained above, helps stop set up sweepers and SR setters from setting up, Air Slash is my STAB and way to hit Breloom hard with Expert Belt, also good chance to flinch. HP Fight is for Ice types, which Crobat can hit very hard, as it holds an Expert Belt. Also hits Rock types. U-turn is probably the move I use most, and gains me momentum, and completes a core with Landorus-T and Tornadus. Crobat's versatile moveset allows me to switch into almost anything and deal heavy damage, and U-turn out when I see some danger.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Relaxed Nature

  • U-turn
  • Stealth Rock
  • Toxic
  • Earthquake

Synergy:

Water: Dragonite, Gyarados
Ice: Skarmory, Gyarados

Landorus-T is extremely helpful to the team, and poses as some many roles. One of them is SR setting, which helps me beat mono Ice teams which just wreck havoc. It also is my defensive wall, and a scout, and an attacker, all in one kind of thing :3. U-turn makes this the second Pokemon in my scouting tri-core, and just gains me momentum to attack, Stealth Rock is amazing, and helps beat my rival type, Ice well. Toxic is for trolling and let's Lando and Gyarados inflict two types of status on the correct Pokemon. Earthquake is my normal move of choice, STAB and good damage, just to end Pokemon sometimes, you know.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 4 Def / 228 SDef / 12 Spd
Careful Nature

  • Iron Head
  • Whirlwind
  • Spikes
  • Roost

Synergy:

Electric: Landorus-T
Fire: Gyarados, Dragonite

Skarmory allows me to have something to switch into Ice type attacks and is incredibly useful. It runs 12 speed to outspeed opposing Skarmory which run 8 speed here nowadays, and is sorta my mixed wall, allowing me to tank hits of all kind, and has Sturdy which I like to keep maintaining. Iron Head is very good for attacking, and helps me defeat rock types and especially the Ice types I normally switch into on mono ice teams. Whirlwind is for phasing. This is what I need to develop when up against a mono Ice team, and should try to keep Skarm alive as long as possible, even if it means foddering a Pokemon. Spikes is to deal with all Pokemon that get affected by it xD, and also against mono Ice, chucks a good 25% off 3 layers :3, and Roost is my recovery. It helps me maintain Sturdy and just allows me to live in general.

Tornadus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature

  • Focus Blast
  • U-turn
  • Hurricane / Air Slash
  • Heat Wave

Synergy:

Rock: Landorus-T, Skarmory
Ice: Skarmory, Gyarados
Electric: Landorus-T

Finally, last but not least, comes my extremely trusted scarfer. This is what I use to clean stuff up in the late game, and hits most types that threaten me very hard by the variety of moves on the set. Hasty nature is an absolute must, as outspeeding Starmie to hit is with U-turn before it Ice beams is very important. Focus Blast is for hitting Rock types, which again threaten my team with their super effective attacks. U-turn is for scouting and completes my U-turn core. It also hits Starmie hard. Hurricane and Air Slash both are STABS and hit hard, and I've been switching between them for quite a while now. Accuracy v. Power as they say :D and Heat Wave finally hits the Ice types, which I prefer over Focus Blast, but obviously I'd use Focus Blast on a Water/Ice type. So yeah, quite important member of the team.

Do you have proof you played 156 games? Srsly, I'd chop my leg off after playing so many games.
I played for 3 hours straight, you want anymore?
Perhaps I could record me playing 3 hours worth of battling, but you'd chop your legs off after watching for 3 hours anyway :3
I might.
you forgot delibird :3

your only chance at a spinner :3
lol xD
I don't really need a spinner, as my team is focused around Skarmory and Gyarados and Landorus Therian, my defensively oriented core. Since my core revolves around each other, SR isn't very annoying, as if both teams have it on their field, it's even. I have also found that my team can force many switches, so after SR I focus on doing that. Btw, Delibird has a 4x SR weakness xD
Was just about to say "needs more Delibird.". I'll say it anyway: Needs more Delibird.
I know this is a joke, but think in seriousness. If SR is in the field, I send Delibird out to clear it up, it loses 50% HP and then when I switch the opponent uses an attack. Delibird is slow, so it will just become shark food.
So I was gonna post a Mono RMT then I clicked the stupid X button meaning to hit the other button and then you post this Dx
Haha! Jokes on you! xD
... [Silence]
i love det title
lolololol
Damn character limit, had to delete some introduction to fit the synergy in >.>
Great team :3
One thing that concerns me however is your "trusty" clean up sweeper being incredibly weak to priority and having anything but untrustworthy moves at its arsenal :P

You seem very weak to mono steel. You have next to nothing that could easily break a Skarmory or Forre apart from Tornadus which is a pretty obvious move. Maybe Thundurus-T would make a nice replacement being able to abuse Volt Switch/Tbolt and Hp Fly.
Thundurus used to be in the spot where Tornadus now is. And obviously there are reasons why I replaced him.

1) It doesn't get U-Turn, it gets Volt Switch, which doesn't help me defeat Gallade in mono psychic teams. Believe it or not, near to all Gallade that I've encountered while testing are scarfed, and even though scarf Thundurus could outspeed it and Volt Switch, it won't deal sufficient damage to it, whereas U-Turn deals a good 75% to a standard scarf set.

2) Thundurus doesn't get any special good hitting flying type move. As even though I have a clear advantage against mono fight, scarfed Pokemon made especially to eliminate mono flying types are threatening, and Thundurus can't deal enough damage for me to be happy. These are the Pokemon I focus on killing.

3) I don't see what priority you mean, apart from an occasional Bullet punch from Scizor which I wouldn't stay in on anyway, Sucker Punch can be annoying, but it's very rare again, and it can only deal good damage if it gets STAB.

4) Mono steel is quite easy to play against, as it has very few Pokemon which cover it's fire weakness well. I see what you mean about unreliable moves on Tornadus, and I could always switch Focus Blast to HP Fight. But there is no way to OHKO Forry anyway, it gets Sturdy. So even if I do above 50% damage, I'm okay with that.

5) HP Fly on Thundurus seems a waste of an HP. My main priority is to eliminate annoying Pokemon (surprisingly most have a fire weakness) and HP Fire would be my reliable option to defeat them. I know I can use other Pokemon to defeat them, but I prefer the clear way. But I see what you mean about the unreliable moves on Tornadus, in fact I'm thinking about replacing FBlast for HP Fight. Thanks for the advice though :)
That's one we'll trained Tornadus then xD 75% to Galade :P it isn't se is it? My mind hurts
lol xD
