Mewderator: I haven't built anything outside of NU and LC with anyone else for quite a while now, so Lenub and I got together and decided to make an OU team. After a few internet disconnections, we landed this team. We had to fight over some of the slots, and Leboss' first refusal to use Keldeo because of the suspect testing, but in the end, this was it. Laddering wise, I went all over the place with alts: TestingAlt123, Mewderator, Mew :3, Nuberator, and Lenub saks. One of them, which is TestingAlt, hit 2000+ on the ladder, but maybe its provisional.

Lenub: Moo saks, that is all.

Btw, this team can do decently in the 2100's :3

Team Preview:

Synergy:

Latias is immune to Ground, ignore that it says its 1x :P

The team:

Tyranitar (F) @ Leftovers

Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 64 SAtk / 192 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)

  • Stealth Rock
  • Ice Beam
  • Fire Blast
  • Pursuit

I haven't used support Tyranitar for quite awhile now. Maybe because the words "Choice Band Tyranitar" are everywhere. Also, since Landorus is banned and Keldeo is now being tested, Banded Tyranitar is harder to utilize, because the three formed an excellent offensive core. So support TTar. Smogon recommends 252 / 4 / 252, but I decided to use 64 SAtk EVs to insure the OHKO on Max HP Gliscor and Landorus-T. The rest is invested in HP and SDef to provide maximum Special bulk, with Sandstorm boosting TTar's SDef even more. The moveset is quite standard for a support Pokemon. Stealth Rock is our only form of hazards on the team, and it is vital for some of the less powerful sweepers to secure OHKOs and 2HKOs. Ice Beam targets the many Ice weaknesses of OU, like Gliscor, Landorus-T, and the various Dragons in OU. Fire Blast targets the many Steel Pokemon in OU, namely Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Forretress. Due to the prominence of rain, however, Fire Blast can easily be neutered, be it is still a great utility to have. Since TTar often sponges Psychic and Ghost moves, after switching into Pokemon like Lati@s and Gengar, I can trap them with STAB Pursuit and go for the OHKO.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers

Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

  • Substitute
  • Calm Mind
  • Roost
  • Dragon Pulse

Latias, in my opinion, is the freaking MVP of the team. Originally added to take Fighting moves for Tyranitar, Latias has sprouted to become so much more than that. Being resistant to common types that sand detests, such as Grass and Water, as well as Latias' great bulk, allows it to wall a signifcant part of OU and do whatever the hell it wants. It also provides a solid check to rain team's Water spammers and Thunder spammers, as well as the onslaught of sun teams. EVs are standard for a bulky sweeper. Having decent Special Attack gives us the advantage when doing what this Latias does best. Substitute sets up on the switch or predicted status move. Then, Calm Mind boosts up Special Attack and Special Defense, and tanks special moves even better than ever before. Then, if Latias is low on health from residual damage and Substitute, Roost heals off the damage, and is chosen over recover because it looks cooler. Finally, Dragon Pulse is STAB and after all those Calm Minds, does meaningful damage to Heatran and Ferrothorn.

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band

Trait: Technician
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • U-turn
  • Bullet Punch
  • Superpower
  • Pursuit

Yeah, Mew wanted to use my ultra mega secret Scizor EV spread that is pro, and so i decided to let him use it, but now, he's showing everyone. Anyways, fairly standard Scizor, with U-Turn being extremely spammable, and the EV's ensure i can hit Poli's who run anything less than 12 EVs and a nonboosting nature, which is good, cause U-Turn can do a solid 40-60% damage on it, depending its spread. Bullet Punch just kills stuff, and makes Scizor a powerful, noteworthy revenge killer, being able to checkmate Alakazam, Terrakion, and Gengar. Superpower is just nice, considering that it helps me OHKO any opposing TTar that isnt scared with a Fire move, and dishes out HUGE damage to opposing Banded Scizor's, usually meaning i beat them in a 1v1. Pursuit is mainly for Celebi's lacking Baton Pass, and for any Choiced Lati@s who just spammed a Draco Meteor and tried to get away unpunished.

Jellicent (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)

  • Scald
  • Will-O-Wisp
  • Taunt
  • Recover

Ever heard of beating Ferrothorn... with a water type? Yeah, Jelli can. EVs allow Jellicent to outspeed standard defensive Skarmory and stop it from setting up. Anyways, Scald is for STAB attacking move, and can add a nice Burn chance to anything on the switch in. Will-O-Wisp is for things like Scizor and Ferro, which a 30% chance will prob mean no chance at all, considering the luck Moo and I have. Furthermore, Fire Pokemon that resist Will-O-Wisp can get hit with a supereffective Scald, while others get crippled by Wisp, making the moves quite synergetic. Also, that means we can finally hit Toxicroak with this thing. Taunt stops Scizor's who think SD's are fun, and Ferro's who'll try to Leech Seed, expecting a switch, which we can Burn the next turn and make it's Power Whip weaker. Recover is obv Recover(y), and makes Jelli last longer and wall more later on in the match.

Keldeo-R @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

  • Hydro Pump
  • Surf
  • Hidden Power [Ice]
  • Secret Sword

Yeah, OU's most prominent Rain abuser in a sand team, which is cool. It takes out things that bother TTar rather nicely. EVs allow Keldeo to give the rare Porygon2 and Z a good Attack boost. Yeah, scarf makes it basically tied for the second fastest (and most common) scarf arround, only second to the Lati twins and the occasional, and tied with Terrakion and Nape. STAB Hydro Pump and Surf may seem a bit redundant, but Hydro Pump goes for bigger damage for Rachi and Heatran, while Surf means a strong and reliable move (not to mention that Moo saks with Hydro Miss). Having both in the set allows us to choose between a safe attack to knock out a Pokemon with or when we need big damage to wear it down. HP Ice nails Dragons, Landorus-T, Gliscor, and hit Celebi for some (like 30) damage, which is good, since Pony outspeed all common DDancers at +1. STAB Secret Sword just says screw you Ferro and steel-y friends.

Jirachi @ Leftovers

Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 92 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Substitute
  • Meteor Mash
  • Iron Head
  • Thunder Wave

Holy mother of hax, you dont want to mess with this thing, and for a damn good reason now. Previously, BodyHead was Rachi's most common set, but with the introduction of Rachi finally being able to get a move to boost attack, prepare to see this more often. Yeah, EVs are to outspeed Jolly Breloom's spore and hit Jolly Mamoswine hard, and providing max attack, and the rest in bulk. Substitute is the crux of this set, making Rachi a pain to deal with (like it wasnt before). STAB Meteor Mash is amazing, giving Rachi a really strong Physical move to abuse, and a 40% chance to raise Attack. Iron Head may seem dumb, provided we already have MM, but really, one does not simply give up the opportunity to make the opponent RQ. 60% finch chance is great, especially after Meteor Mash's chance to boost Attack. And finally, Thunder Wave is there for ParaFlinch shenanigans, and used over Body Slam due to the fact that it is compatible with MM, while Body Slam is not.

Threats:

  • Breloom: If this guy gets a Swords Dance up, it will be a pain. Fighting Gem variants can OHKO Keldeo and Scizor with Mach Punch. Latias is really the only check to it, but after an SD, Mach Punch breaks through Latias' Substitute.

Final look at the team:

A final look at us :3

Solid team. Easily one of the most solid teams on this website. However there are few things I don't really like.

1.Well its just a teeny bit incredibly standard. I've seen some variation of that team god knows how many times :P
Because it is so incredibly standard there is little suggestions to be made. That and its just incredibly uninteresting hence why it doesn't have my vote as of now :3

2.The team is incredibly weak to hazards. It really limits who you can and can't be switching in. Toxic Spikes just ruins half of your team alone and without them the team falls apart and fails to function well at all.

3.Mamo just is a pain. Nothing really safely switches in on an earthquake par Latias who hates Ice Shard.

4.IDK why but I can't really see the point of Jirachi on the team. It doesn't offer the team much synergy wise or offensive wise with it being essentially a mono attacker. It just looks like its there for the sake of it :P

Anyway nice team. Oh BTW that ultra mega secret ev spread is pretty much standard now xD IK I have been using it since Specs Politoed became a big thing
Secret EV spread was never secret, dear Blobby :3
The fact that Moo didnt know of it made me put it in the description. xD
*facepalms*
I agree, this Team is just a awful lot standard overall. But it's great without a doubt. +1
I knew it already, I was just asking you if you wanted to use it lol
pssh, Moo pls, your favorite spread is 16 Spd
It's actually 8 lol
Too much standard gets a downvote but everything else got an upvote so no vote :3

Nice team guys. You used all of the pokemon that I hate to battle :D
"Must be rated" can't rate a standard team...
Standard doesn't mean perfect, so yeah, this team is rateable.
What the **** Jirachi gets Meteor Mash

WTH have I been
It's not perfect the importable copy is messed up.
