Suicides are pretty common over here, especially in 10th and 12th grades, where we have our "boards" (our equivalent to the British O and A levels) . Parents push their children to the brink, and children themselves think that marks are the only thing which matter. Then there are our university admission tests, for which children preparing from 6th grade itself. Many people can't handle the pressure. But those who are some of the brightest in the world, that's that. Our education system is messed up, honestly.
