Any way to survive Selfdestruct/Explosion if you are using it?

I mean it as if your own Pokemon uses explosion and survives... If so, that'd be epic.

1. In Generation I, if Explosion/Selfdestruct breaks the target's Substitute, the user will not faint.
2. In Generations I - IV, Explosion/Selfdestruct will fail if no target is available.
3. In Max Raid Battles and Tera Raid Battles, Explosion/Self-Destruct will fail and the user will not faint.
4. The ability Damp prevents the use of Explosion and Self-Destruct (among other moves).

Of these, only #1 allows the user to deal damage with Explosion/Selfdestruct without fainting. The others just prevent it from being used in the first place.

Actually, there is. When your opponent has the ability Damp, the move will fail, causing you not to faint.

No because Focus Sash and Sturdy will not protect you from it.

This is because Focus Sash and Sturdy protect you from the enemies OHKO moves.

Well, yeah.  BUT, does it say anything about the ability Rock Head, which prevents recoil damage?  What about that?

Explosion and Selfdestruct's side effect are not recoil. They are a regular side effect, not recoil.

Explosion and SelfDestruct aren't recoil. They're part of the attack itself.
