Hey everyone,

I'm thinking of breeding the following gimmicky Dragonite for in-game fun / vs friends:

Dragonite (Multiscale) (Leftovers)
- Superpower
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Haze

EV: 252 Atk./ 252 Sp.A/ 4 HP

Obviously the purpose of this set is to do massive damage with the high power moves, followed by a Haze to remove the stat reductions. Alternatively, Roost can be used to reactive the Multiscale ablilty

However, what would be a good nature for this set? (Personally, I'm thinking +Atk./-Speed, since Speed is Dragonite's lowest stat and I would like to keep his bulkiness.)

Also, if someone thinks of a better EV spread, feel free to mention it.

Dragonite (M) @ Life Orb/Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk 252 Satk, 4 Def
Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Superpower
- Roost/Light Screen
- Draco Meteor
- Haze

This is a very annoying set and will sure give your friends some trouble. Not only does haze reset your lost stat but it also resets there set up stats xD. I suggested Light screen to up some special defense since Ice types are usually seen as the option to counter dragonite.
This dragonite is ready to go. If you have a dual screener with light clay like Latias. Like this one:
Latias (F) @ Light Clay
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 204 HP / 32 Def / 4 SAtk / 16 SDef / 252 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk), Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse / Mist Ball / Psychic
- Wish / Recover
- Light Screen
- Reflect

She will stall and ware out a team before it is even dragonite's turn. Wish or recover, whichever you prefer. Wish can be used to pass over latias's wish if Dragonite's HP is getting low. recover is there to annoy your opponents with constant recoveries. You could also divide the dual screener's role on Dragonite and Latias. Then you can replace light scrren with refresh. This is to prevent the foes from burning, intoxicating etc. your Latias. This helps it stay alive even longer. Upping her team's bulk, Dual screener Latias is dragonite's soulmate.

I have tried this and it worked awesomely.

Hope this helped

Hmm.. speaking of this, I should try this more often xD
Thanks a lot, I appreciate the in depth reply! I really like the idea of that support Latias and I cannot wait to try it out. Also, is there any specific reason you chose the Mild Nature for Dragonite? (I'm a little new to this, so I was wondering.)
Thanks again!
Mild nature ups Dragonite's Special attack stat, but in return it lowers it's Defense. This is loss in defense is recovered when Dragonite is under the dual screens. I didn't suggest a quiet( + SpAtk, -Spe) Dragonite because there are some opponents that Dragonite can outspeed and this can come in handy. This is still your choice though but whatever suits your battlestyle best.

And I am glad it Helped :)

Well, if/while running a mixed attacker it really doesn't work to max out both attacking stats. On top of that, it's usually better to phase instead of haze (haha it rhymes) Dragon tail or Roar is basically what I'm saying. You might want Earthquake instead of Superpower since you probably want to stay in. Draco Meteor would still be fine. For my suggested EV Spread, probably max bulk so you take hits better to roost back up. Dragonite has nice attack, so Boosting his Special Attack would be the next thing for Draco Meteor. But to be honest, a physically defensive spread sounds really cool. Use either Quiet or Relaxed if going for that physically defensive idea.

Actually it is better to Haze here to get rid of the stat drops for the 2 attacking moves.
