i have 2 scythers, one with technician and the other with steadfast. I was wondering which was better and if that would effect the moveset I'm going to give it (the steadfast scyther is bashful and the tech scyther is quiet) thanks

Technician- Increases the base power of moves with 60 or less by 50%.
Steadfast- Speed is boosted by one stage when flinched.

I definitely would go with Technician over Steadfast as moves like Aerial Ace, Quick Attack, and Bug Bite gain a nice boost. Technician is actually one of the best abilities ever and is what makes Scizor that much better.

Technician easy. With moves like Bug Bite, Aerial Ace, and Quick Attack they all get a 50% power boost, plus Bug Bite and Aerial Ace have their power boosted once again because of STAB. Here is one of my favorite movesets for battling. It would be nice if you could one with a Jolly Nature.

Scyther @ Lum Berry
Trait: Technician
Jolly Nature

  • Swords Dance
  • Aerial Ace
  • Bug Bite
  • Quick Attack

Swords Dance is great for boosting that already good attack. Aerial Ace and Bug Bit are its STAB moves and get the Technician boost. Quick Attack is +1 priority and Technician and is used to finish off weaker or frail foes. Lum Berry protects from harmful status.

Hope I helped! :)

Technician, lots of it's moves are 60 base power letting him take it to 90.

My recommended moveset:

Scyther (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Technichian

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)

  • Swords Dance
  • Aerial Ace
  • Bug Bite
  • U-turn / Quick Attack

Make sure to start with a swords dance, then aerial ace and bug bite will get technicial boost, life orb boost, STAB boost and swords dance boost which will make scyther a powerhouse. (By the way you should evolve it to scizor). U-turn is a great scouting move being able to switch into a Pokemon that can defend it like a Water-Ground Pokemon that covers it's weaknesses.

Dude, U-Turn sucks on a set-up sweeper. It gets rid of all those hard earned boosts. Another option is Brick Break or Quick Attack. :)
Bro its if you start out, and you get to a pokemon who could take you down, like heatran or something, you switch out and deal some damage
Brick Break is just for that situation. ;)
Ye, but i didn't choose that because its not STAB
