PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I know that Xerneas is the legendary for Pokemon X, and Yvetal is the legendary for Pokemon Y, and that Zygarde is almost certainly the legendary for PokemonZ when it is (almost certain) to be released. So, Pokemon Z is the Pokemon Crystal, Emerald, Platinum for X and Y. Xerneas is the life Pokemon, and Yvetal is the destruction Pokemon, and they are polar opposites of each other. So what could Zygarde be?

Just saying that the last time people expected a third game (Grey/Gray) they gave us B2W2. :P

It is actually believed by people that Zygarde is based off of Nidhogg from Norse Mythology. Look at this picture below:
![Norse][1]

Many people belive this to be the case purly because of Zygarde being a serpeant. They also came to this conclusion from the deer next to the tree( that they belive Xearnes is based on) and the Flying bird thing sitting in the tree (believed to be Yvetal). Now I'm not saying this is excatly true its just something I saw on the internet a few days ago, but as we all know not everything on the internet is true.

ಠ_ಠ So much speculation.
Actually I think it may be based off Jormungandr or otherwise known as Midgard Serpent. Jormungandr is based off Ouroboros and is a balance of nature. Also read that if Jormungandr 'lets go' of its tail the world will end and the order will be turned to chaos. The whole order thing and the fact it's a serpent seem more likely. Besides, isn't Nidhogg malevolent, while Zygarde seems more benevolent? Also about the Midgard Serpent and the Gard part of Zygarde.
what ratatosk suppose to be in the game
Across the Rainbow Bridge of Asgard,
Where the booming heavens roar,
You’ll behold in breathless wonder,
The god of Thunder, Mighty Thor!

Oh come on. You knew this was coming. :D

Zygarde is known as the Order Pokemon hence the reason why it stops the boosts of Fairy Aura and Dark Aura as you can easily see it as mutating what once was as boosting the power of 2 specific types can be seen as distorting the natural balance.

Life and Death are 2 different mysteries which despite their differences are the source of ones existence for one does not live without not knowing of death. However to accomplish this there must be Order in order for the both to activate each other.

You could also look into the goggles in which Fairy Aura brings life and Dark Aura takes away
If this should happen the balance between life and death would fall causing an intergalactic breakdown and a hole in existence

With Aura break stopping this disorder, Zygarde is like I mentioned above the bringer of order

It's classification was confirmed here

I know this has already been answered, but I thought maybe it was like the Trimurti in Hinduism. Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer/recreator. I thought this until I saw the other person's reply about the Norse mythology, but I thought Zygarde may represent Vishnu. But you know, the Norse does make sense.

Hey Lord Shiva is the destroyer of life to prevent us being immortal....so my point is he is not  recreator and your answer is good

I would suggest it is the balance between the two - much like Rayquaza is the balance between Kyogre and Groudon. Of course this is just pure speculation on my part. The main reason I though of this is its ability - Aura Break - cancels out the effects of Xerneas' and Yvetal's abilities, again I think it sounds much like Air Lock which cancels out Drizzle and Drought.

And I also think Trachy is right - don't expect a Pokemon Z until it is officially announced, because GameFreak could easily do something we don't expect.

we can't imagine an endless immortal life and we can't also imagine a life fully with death....so the point is Zygarde gives the life and death in an equal propotion to balance nature if Zygarde does'nt does his job then the results will be::

we would have an immortal life because Xerneas (Life) has the type advantage against Yeltal (Death) even tough Yveltal obsorbs the life energy it would just keep coming because of Xerneas

i agree to MooTicBoom because this NORSE mythology really makes sense.......

You shouldn't really answer old questions but....how is a life fully with death still a life?
