Let's say for instance a timid Ditto with 252 HP EVs copies an adamant ferrothorn with a spread of 252atk/252 spd.
The ditto copies all stats except HP and so it retains the HP EVs but as it copies the opposing Pokemons stats(ferrothorn) will the ditto b equivalent to an adamant ferrothorn or will it stay as a timid ferrothorn?i.e If it stays as a timid ferrothorn then does the transformed ditto outspeed the opposing ferrothorn, Or will it b a speed tie by ignoring the boost given by the timid nature?
And is the transformed ditto equal to a ferrothorn with 3 maxed stats? i.e the dittos 252 hp EVs + the ferrothorn attack and speed EVs?

EDIT: does it also copy the stat boost of swords dance etc? (If it's not an imposter ditto, and if ferrothorn managed to set up swords dance and ditto transforms after)
Hope I'm clear...

Ditto will copy the EVs as well, excluding HP EVs.
The nature of the Ditto doesn't matter because Imposter copies the stats and stat changes, therefore the nature doesn't matter.
You would indeed speed tie with the Ferrothorn, but most Imposter Ditto's hold a Choice Scarf, outspeeding the opposing Poke, unless they carry one as well.

>Imposter copies the target's appearance, cry, moves (which all have 5 PP), Ability, stats (except HP), stat changes (but not stat multipliers such as with Choice Specs), weight, and Mega Evolution or form (regardless of held item).

>Imposter does not copy its opponent's IVs (for the purpose of Hidden Power) or gender.

Yes, the Ditto would be equal to the Ferro with 3 maxed stats.
Considering all of this, the only stat you can invest in with it affect you at all is HP.
