Ditch Mean Look. Overall, it's much more practical to have an attack instead. As Crobat's base Attack is higher than it's base special attack by 20, you might want to concider X-Scissor (Bug, power 80, ac. 100). If the type doesn't appeal to you, you probably would have to resort to a special attack move like dark pulse or giga drain

Here's the advantages of your move types (plus suggested types)

Fire grass, ice, bug, and steel.
Flying grass, fighing, and bug.
Poison grass.
Bug grass, dark, and psycic.
Dark Psychic, Ghost
Grass Water, Ground, Rock
As you noticed, you have a ridiculous super effective coverage against grass, and not that much else.

Disadvantages of your move Types
Fire Fire, Water, Rock, Dragon
Flying Electric, Rock, Steel
Poison Poson, Ground, Rock, Ghost, Steel
Bug Fire, Fight, Poison, Ghost, Fly, Steel
Dark Dark, Steel, Fight
Grass Fire, Poison, Steel, Grass, Flying, Bug, Dragon
You're pretty well rounded whatever you choose. Although weakness to steel may seem alarming, it's alright as fire is super effective. You're a little limited when fighting fire Pokemon, but the only one you'd really be in bad shape against is Heatran, and we don't fight Heatrans everyday ;).

For your moves, if you don't take a fancy to how bug coordinates with your other moves, you probably should go for dark pulse as it can combat psycic, which is super effective against you. If you're into regaining health, giga drain would work even though it's only power 60 and is not very effective against a lot of types as it helps you combat rock, which also is super effective against you.

Overall, I like your Crobat, just replace Mean Look.

I'll give you a Physical and a special moveset.

Brave Bird: High power, high accuracy, STAB

Hypnosis: Puts the foe to Sleep.

U-Turn: Decent power, high accuracy, hit-and-run tactic.

Cross Poison/Taunt/Pursuit: Cross Poison gives STAB, Taunt stops Stat moves, and Pursuit kills switching foes, which works well because most people switch out a sleeping Pokemon.

Shadow Ball: Good power, high accuracy, decent chance to lower Sp. Def, deals with Psychic types.

Sludge Bomb: Good power, high accuracy, good chance to poison, STAB.

Hypnosis: Puts the foe to sleep.

Nasty Plot: Greatly increases Sp. Attack.

Instead of shadow ball for special, why not air slash for STAB?
Flying doesn't have the best type coverage. Shadow Ball can also deal wth Psychic types. Remeber, there shudn't be any problem facing Grass, Bug, or Fighting types with Crobat. Psychic type, however, are a big problem.
No offense Trachy, but have you thought that most people wouldn't switch out a psychic or ghost type when against crobat?
Well, first things first, this was answered 9 months ago. Second, what do you mean bythat? You mean Pursuit? Sure they'd switch out if they were asleep.
He cannot learn both Brave Bird and Hypnosis I thought…
he can. they are egg moves for crobat!!
I'd use X-Scissor instead of Hypnosis
Well ur not thinking ahead with the hypnosis technique, yes it may work from time to time, but when it fails, they could easily KO Crobat with a super effective move (and there's a lot). Id rather [replace hypnosis with taunt in the physical set], and [replace shadow ball with dark pulse and maybe hypnosis with swagger on the special set.]

Item: Evolite
Ability: Inner-focus
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 Defense, 252 S.Defense, 6 Hp

Roost is for healing. Toxic is for stalling. Heat-wave gets rid of Steel types. Haze gets rid of annoying stat boosting Pokemon. This guy is surprisingly bulky.

this is for crobat not gol bat

Crobat @ Life Orb

Trait: Inner Focus

EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Timid Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Sludge Bomb/Air Slash
  • Giga Drain
  • Heat Wave
  • Nasty Plot

Sludge Bomb is STAB, and has a nice base power and accuracy.
Starting off with Air Slash for STAB right off the bat. Air Slash also has better coverage than Sludge Bomb, but Giga Drain and Heat Wave is usually enough.
Giga Drain provides a little healing as well as some coverage.
Heat Wave can hit steel type pokemon for some reasonable damage. Ice weakness.
Nasty Plot doubles Sp.atk, Useful for Crobat mediocre Sp.atk stat.
Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball might also be worth taking a look at.

sorry but, is there any way this guy can learn nasty plot + giga drain? (which is will be very nice if he could, but i think he couldn't, isn't it?)
Yeah there is a way Crobat legitimately can learn Nasty Plot and Giga Drain.
Breed Nasty Plot to it in fourth Gen, then just teach it Giga Drain by TM and optionally transfer it to Black and White.
Timid is -Atk +Speed.

Here's one I made for a mono poison team.

Venoshock-If you get a team member with the Toxic spikes, this can pack quite a punch

hidden power [ground]-deals with rock and electric weakness while also taking out steel types that are immune to poison and more importantly, poison types that absorb toxic spikes.

heat wave- deals with steel types and covers ice weakness.

nasty plot/whirlwind- good for extra power or spreading the spikes.

Crobat d'aCrobat

Ability, Nature, Item : Inner Focus, Adamant, Flight Jewel

  • Acrobatics (of Course!!) and with that acrobatics effect its power become 110 + STAB + flight jewel effect, it become 110 x 1.5 x 1.5 = 247.5!!!! <=== isn't that great!!!!
  • U-Turn for safe hit n run when meet ice or electric or rock pokemon with full health or whatever pokemon u hate
  • Steel Wings (2 type coverage for Ice and Rock)
  • Bite (another type coverage, decent power, flinch 30 % and with that speed, it can outrun almost all pokemon and make use for that flinch)
Great help thanks dude!

Item: Leftovers
Ability: Inner-focus
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 HP, 6 Defense

Confuse-ray is self explanatory, it confuses the opponent. Hypnosis makes them go to sleep. Super-fang cuts there HP down to half in one hit, which is a great help to the rest of the team as it makes it easier to finish off. Tailwind is great for team support.

I always love to mess up everyone's day with a crobat! Lol :)

Item - Poison Barb.

Toxic - Guaranteed poisoning, and since poison increases damage each turn, this will take out an opponent very quickly.
Poison Fang - Power is 50%, and accuracy is 100%. Also has the potential to poison opponents.

Fly - Power is 90%, accuracy is 95%. A 2 turn move, and avoids most attacks except for Seismic Toss and a few others. This does a fair amount of damage in most battles.
Steel Wing - Power is 70%, and accuracy is 90%. Technically, Fly wins if you are looking for good power and accuracy, but Steel Wing has an steel type advantage. It's always good to have different types of moves.

Roost - For healing. Combined with the other moves, this makes Crobat VERY hard to deal with.

Confuse Ray - Confusion with poison effects can be a wonderful combo. Using Fly along with it means that the opponent can't hit Crobat much, and when they do, it can heal with Roost.

I know this comment is old, but I have a quick question, if you even will see this. Should I lead with Confuse Ray and then Toxic, or Toxic then Confuse Ray?
I find it to be a situational strategy. Depending on what opponent I have, like one that has a more defensive moveset, I find that confuse ray works better to lead with. For faster opponents, it's better to lead with toxic, in the event that for some reason your crobat encounters one of the handful of pokemon that are faster than it is. Otherwise, I typically lead with confuse ray, because it works as a good defensive strategy, especially if you use fly right after. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much!

Here's a really bulky golbat:

Golbat @ Eviolite
Trait: Infiltrator
Impish Nature(+Def, -SpA)
EVs: 252 HP, 252 SpD, 4 Def
Super Fang

Generally Brave Bird > Super Fang, but SF is still an option too

This is one of the best Crobat moveset at all time!
Crobat (M) @Focus Sash/@Life Orb/@Black Sludge
Trait: Inner Focus (To Avoid Flinch and Fake Out)
Ev's: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 Hp
Nature: Jolly (+Speed, -Sp Attack)
-Cross Poison (Poison opponent and counter for Fairy Type)
-Brave Bird (Huge damage and STAB)
-U-Turn (Switching when in danger)
-Taunt (Stop stat moves and Will-O-Wisp and Sleep)

If you hate stall, you'll love these two sets (UU):

Nasty Plot Crobat

Crobatman (Crobat) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Giga Drain
- Heat Wave

Crobat's immunity to Toxic, and access to Nasty Plot and Giga Drain make it very threatening against stall teams. Crobat's base special attack stat is only 70, but it hits hard after a few Nasty Plot boosts, especially when you add Life Orb. It will be easy to setup on passive Pokémon, as they can't badly poison it. Air Slash is for STAB, and is a good way to inflict hax on your opponent (or not). Giga Drain counters Unaware walls like Quagsire and Pyukumku, and is useful for restoring HP, especially against Blissey, which is a huge annoyance to this Crobat. Because of Blissey's massive HP stat, a Life Orb +6 Giga Drain will restore 35 - 41.3% of its maximum HP, which is more damage than Seismic Toss. Heat Wave hits steel types like Registeel, Scizor, and Mega Aggron for super effective damage. Infiltrator allows Crobat to bypass Substitute.

Taunt/Roost + Offensive Pivot Crobat

Crobatgirl (Crobat) (F) @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- U-Turn

A less gimmicky set that can shut down stall teams due to the Taunt + Roost combo and Crobat's toxic immunity. Taunt cripples passive Pokémon that rely on status moves, such as Blissey, Suicune, etc. and makes them unable to recover. Roost restores 50% of Crobat's maximum HP, allowing it to recover from Stealth Rock damage, and switch into attacks more often. Brave Bird is for STAB and hits exceptionally hard when paired with Flyinium-Z. Sky Plate can be used if you already have a Z-move user. U-Turn allows Crobat to switch out while dealing damage, letting it act as an offensive pivot and gain momentum. Infiltrator allows Crobat to hit Substitute Suicune and Kyurem.

Watch out for Mega Aerodactyl, as it can be found on stall teams, and outspeeds and OHKOs Crobat. Also, you should probably use these sets in UU rather than OU (yk, Heatran).

Cool ideas. But you can't stop timer stallers :P.

It's Crobatman!

Double/Triple Battle

Crobat (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Tailwind
- Brave Bird
- Cross Poison
- X-Scissor

Tailwind provides team support. Brave Bird is STAB that can hit any foe. Cross Poison is STAB. X-Scissor is coverage.

[email protected] Orb
Ability: Inner focus
EVs: 252 Attk 152 Def 100 Sp Def
Nature: Adamant ( + Attk - Sp Attk )
-Brave Bird ( High Damage, STAB. )
-U-Turn ( For switching, obviously. )
-Taunt ( For bulky walls that want to set up on you. )
-Super Fang ( Also for bulky walls, making life easier by halfing their HP. )

This croabat's moveset doesnt cover weaknesses, instead it's meant to be a wall breaking support pokemon. This is mostly for irritating walls that want to set up right infront of you. With it's defense EVs and quite decent defences, it can turn into a very irritating pokemon.

Item: Flight Gem
Ability: Inner-focus
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Hp

Steel-wing or Confuse-ray or Taunt

This is the Crobat set I use in OU quite frequently, he is extremely effective, I once even turned a 2-6 loss into a 6-5 win for me just with this guy!. Acrobatics is EXTREMELY powerful STAB it makes Crobat the ultimate counter to Fighting and Grass combined with that 4x resistance, this guy even can take out Conkeldurr! U-turn is for escaping foes I can not defeat with Crobat. Super-fang is great for breaking through bulky Pokemon. Steel-wing can be used for coverage and if you are fortunate Defense boost, while Confuse-ray is for status and is very useful in my experience, Taunt is if you want to destroy stallers and leads.

Good uses for Crobat:

Taunt lead: Makes them not able to set up with Taunt, then uses Super-fang on the bulky ones then U-turns out of there.

Sweeper: Takes out Volcarona and Fighting types with Acrobatics and breaks through Bulky Pokemon with Super-fang then switches out with U-turn.

Annoying wall destroyer: Uses Confuse-ray to make them well confused XD then uses Super-fang to take away half there health, then use U-turn.

This bat is awesome!

Taunt Lead set is great!
Umm, how is Acrobatics EXTREMELY powerful when it has base 55 power. I'd consider it extremely powerful if you weren't holding an item.
The Flying Gem is consumed before Acrobatics is used, which means it gets the 110 base power and the Flying Gem boost.
Well sorry. I'm sick, 'K. I got a sore throat, eye infection, fever. My brain's messed up.

Gen.III set (Which means it is geared towards in-game use in Gen.III)

EVs (Optional since there really was no metagame in Gen.III): 252 atk, 252 spd, 4 HP
Nature: Adamant/Jolly
Shadow Ball
Sludge Bomb
Confuse Ray/Mean Look

Fly is STAB and gets you where you wanna go as well as hitting hard, Shadow Ball helps with the ghost member of the E-4 and is physical in Gen.III, while Sludge Bomb is STAB and also Physical due to it being in a past Gen. Confuse Ray can be used effectively but Mean Look helps with catching Latias/Latios.

Thats the EXACT same set i used too!
