Status moves don't count, only if there is a special status move that deals damage.
Also the question can confuse you, but what I mean is a the move and the Pokémon type are the same.
I know there are some moves that don't get STAB, what are some more?

Same-type attack bonus does not apply to moves that do not use the normal damage formula, such as Seismic Toss.

So moves that have a specific amount of damage wont get a stab boost.

Moves with fixed damage

  • Dragon Rage: Always deals 40 HP damage

  • Endeavor: Always brings the opponent to the amount of HP the user has

  • Counter: When hit by a physical attack, the user deals double the damage that was taken

  • Mirror Coat: When hit by a special attack, the user deals double the damage that was taken

  • Sonic Boom: Always Deals 20 HP damage

  • Night Shade: Deals damage equal to the user's level (Level 100 = 100 HP damage)

  • Seismic Toss: Deals damage equal to the user's level (Level 100 = 100 HP damage)

Hope I helped

Descriptions were inaccurate and the presentation was bad and there were a few spelling and grammar errors. Check your sources next time please.
