Why is Jirachi in the ORAS Hoenn pokedex if you can`t even find it in ORAS?

It seems quite irrational in ORAS to have a Pokemon in the Reigon pokedex that you can't even find anywhere in the game legitimately, and getting a Jirachi via trade is practically possible since most people keep their Jirachi's stashed away in their PC's, and the people who do throw them on the GTS want something along the lines of Mew, Darkrai, Meloetta, Keldeo, Manaphy, or Arceus.

Personally, I consider those kinds of people to be "stupid" and "annoying" for asking for something that is impossible to get or "looping" for the same thing or something similar  (example:  Darkrai -for- Celebi  -->  Celebi -for- Darkrai  -  or  -  Shaymin -for- higher/lower level - Shaymin, etc.).  I'm not trying to troll anyone; just stating my honest opinion.  though I should stop talking (/typing?) before I get myself into trouble or start rage talking.

I'm also trying to get a Jirachi but the GTS is really frustrating. Just about everyone is trading for the mews, arceuses, etc. even if they're only offering magikarps or zigzagoons. I can never get any decent trades :(

It is just because Jirachi is a Hoenn Pokemon. Every game since the start has done this, anyway, so it's not like its a new thing. Mew, Celebi, Diancie, Victini, etc., are not obtainable through regular gameplay in any of their respective games, but are still included in the local pokedex.

you don't actually need the event-exclusive pokemon to get the Oval/Shiny Charms I'm pretty sure. So the only reason you would actually need Jirachi would be if you are a perfectionist and want to have absolutely every pokemon.

It's just common knowledge, event (and sometimes out of the way legends) don't really count as part of the local dex even though they appear on there. .-.

Awesome!  Thanks for the (Link and) information!  Also, I never knew that it was common knowledge...  (I haven't played Pokemon in a LONG while actually; it was when I got Pokemon X & Alpha Sapphire that I started playing again!)  Guess I wasn't thinking straight...

What are all the event Pokemon? I think I know most of them, just need to know I'm not missing any. I've forgotten about this Charm for Sooooooooo long,

I think it's Victini, Celebi, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Darkrai, Deoxys, Jirachi, and a few more...

I'm not sure you can count Hoopa or Volcanion yet, since their aren't any events to get them yet.

They are: Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Shaymin, Darkrai, Manaphy, Arceus, Victini, Meloetta, Genesect, Keldeo, Diancie

Phione kind of is, since it can only be obtained in-game by breeding an event-exclusive pokemon.

As you said, there is Hoopa and Volcanion, although they aren't released yet.

Deoxys was as well, prior to ORAS.

Thanks to the Wonder Trades, GTS (or is it PGL now?), & Pokebank, I completed the Hoenn Pokedex on my Omega Ruby game and I've only completed 4 Gym Badges!
Unrelated (/boasting) stuff aside, I forgot about the Hoopa one although I didn't know about the Volcanion one...  by the way, are they on the National Pokedex in ORAS?

No, Hoopa nor Volcanion nor Diancie are listed in the National Pokedex in ORAS. I know, since I battled a trainer via Wi-Fi who had a diancie, and it never appeared in my pokedex as a "spotted" pokemon.

WiFi/Battle Maison encounters don't count towards the Pokédex. Source from experience.

I managed to somehow get a (german/event) diancie from someone in return for a shiny.  When I get the national pokedex, I'll let you know if it appears in it.

The only possible way I can think of getting a Jirachi without having to go through trade shenanigans would be to have the Jirachi from the Pokemon Colosseum bonus disk (that's where I got mine).

there were no event Pokemon on the D/P/Pt pokedexes even though gen 4 introduced the most event Pokemon of any generation.
