All my friends are debating at school weather Arceus is pronounced AR-KE-US or AR-SEE-US I personally think its pronounced AR-KE-US but almost everyone at my school says its not and I'm really confused (also if I'm right I really need proof I have $20 riding on this)

AR-KE-US is right. AR-CE-US is the anime version of the pronunciation.
AR-CE-US sounds better then AR-KE-US
I swear i saw this question being asked before.

It depends

Arcues is pronounced
AR-SEE-US in the anime. Ash and his companions always pronounce it like that, so technically it isn't the wrong way to pronounce it.

However, according to the Pokemon: The Essential Handbook, it is pronounced AR-KEE-US.

So, to be honest, it really depends on how you'd rather say it. I say it as Ar-see-us, because I think it sounds better, but I know people who say it as Ar-kee-us.

Source: The Pokemon Anime and Pokemon, the Essential Handbook.

A believe it is pronounced (at least in the United Kingdom) as AR-KE-US. As if it was called AR-CE-US, You could call it Arse-eus. You could see Nintendo and game freak didn't want that. That's my logic and reasoning behind my opinion, I also remember reading that somewhere, I think it was this site, though.

Hope this helps!

This is quite personal but in the movie " Arceus and the Jewel of Life " Ash and his companions say Ar-kee-us . Before I actually thought that it's Ar-see-us but I like watching different Pokemon movies and they said Kee and not see. But if its your first time to encounter the word it's ok to call it as see because ( I'm on both sides here ) Ar-see-us literally sounds better. But according to other sources it's actually both right . Remember this is personal and depends on which source you got it from ( the pronunciation ) but for me I got it from the movie.

Hope this helps!
