Why am I not getting a Protean Froakie?

I am breeding Froakie for competitive use and have a Female Torrent Froakie and
a Male Protean Froakie. I have hatched around 35 eggs and not one have been with the ability Protean. Am I doing something wrong?

Only females pass down their abilities, unless breeding with a ditto. You will have a 60 percent chance of inheriting the female parents ability. Note, hidden abilities can only be passed down by male parents if mating with ditto. This is essential, which is why I'm repeating it.

Mate with a ditto until you get a female Protean Froakie. That is how you begin the process.
