Why can't my breeded- Archen learn Fly ?

Hi guys, I just breeded an Archen from an Archen ( Fermale ) and a Pidove ( Male and knows FLY ), but the strange thing is that my baby Archen appeared not to know any moves of his father Pidove. For more details, it only knew Leer, Wing Attack and Quick Attack. Can anyone explain that for me? This was my first time to breed a Pokemon so please help me.
In addition, I rechecked my Pidove and realized that it grew by 6 lvs in Day-care when I ran around to hatch the egg and auto forgot FLY. Does it mean something ?

The answer is simple: Archen cannot learn the move Fly. Pidove would only pass down the move if Archen could learn it naturally.

Almost got it. So the child inherits moves from its father (before gene VI ) only if it can learn them by lv up or by TM.  But I still confuse about egg moves. For example,  Charmeleon can learn Air Cutter by breeding  Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard as compatible parents while both of them can't learn Air Cutter by lv up or TM :| Does it mean that  Egg Moves does not follow the Passing Down rule ?

Almost, but you need to breed a Charmander/meleon/izard that knows Air Cutter, who can only learn it if it has been bred on to it by one of these Pokémon: http://pokemondb.net/pokedex/charmander/egg#move-air-cutter

Air Cutter is a confusing example, let's use Dragon Dance. Breeding a FEMALE Charmander with a MALE Gyarados that knows Dragon Dance will result in a baby Charmander knowing Dragon Dance. (http://pokemondb.net/pokedex/charmander/egg#move-dragon-dance)
