There is a 1/8 (12.5%) chance to a female Charmander by breeding Charizard and Ditto. The same chance as getting one from the professor. It's based on gender ratio, really.

Don't lose hope though, it just takes a lot of patience and will power. Most people I see playing sooner or later get bored of constant battling and get into breeding for a bit (myself included). This lasts for a few days (or one box of unhatched eggs, whichever comes first), and it's back to battling. It's a lot of fun, though, and the rewards are kinda nice. My respect for hardcore breeders, tbh.
