Dugtrio-Alolan @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Stone Edge
- Memento

Arena Trap Dugtrio is better than this guy due to it being able to check and trap common threats. Other stuff like Band Zygarde 10% does better than this guy. So I wouldn't really recommend using it. I give a set for those who wants it. Sand Force could do good in a Sand team, but sand teams are not really common nowadays and not really used. It's good base speed allows it to make use of a band well. Memento does some scout and momentum. I think he will end up in a Low tier.

Special Alolan Dugtrio

Dugtrio-Alola @ Choice Specs / Focus Sash
Ability: Tangling Hair / Sand Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Sludge Wave
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon
- Ancient Power / Memento / Metal Sound / Stealth Rock

Choice Specs boost your Special Attack, while Focus Sash can allow you to get a free Memento, Stealth Rock, or Metal Sound off. Tangling Hair is better outside of sand. Earth Power and Flash Cannon are STAB and Sludge Wave and Ancient Power are coverage. Memento can be used to cripple an opposing Pokémon. Metal Sound helps your attacks hit harder. Stealth Rock for hazards.

Dugtrio-Alola @ Leftovers
Ability: Tangling Hair
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Substitute
- Toxic

Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's strongest STAB move and hits everything in the tier that doesn't resist it for decent damage. Iron Head hits everything that Earthquake misses out on such as Pokemon with Levitate like Weezing and Mesprit. Toxic is used to put bulky Water-types that Alolan Dugtrio lures in such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath on a timer. When coupled with Toxic, Substitute is used to ease prediction and wear down teams. Substitute also allows Alolan Dugtrio to be safe from Weezing's Will-O-Wisp. When this set is used in conjunction with Toxic Spikes support, Toxic can be replaced with Stone Edge, which expands Alolan Dugtrio's coverage and allows it to hit Pokemon like Swanna and Rotom-S super effectively.

OR

Dugtrio-Alola @ Life Orb
Ability: Tangling Hair
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit

Earthquake is Alolan Dugtrio's best STAB attack and hits everything in the tier that does not resist it for a solid amount of damage. Iron Head is handy for Pokemon that are immune to or resist Earthquake like Weezing and Mesprit. Sucker Punch is used to hit fast threats such as Alolan Raichu, Choice Scarf Haunter, and Choice Scarf Jynx super effectively. Pursuit is used to hit the Electric-type Pokemon that Alolan Dugtrio forces out such as Manetric and Lanturn. Memento can grant a free setup opportunity to a teammate when Alolan Dugtrio is weak or has no other use in the rest of the battle.

Alolan Dugtrio@Focus Sash
Dugtrio
Ability:Sand Force
Nature:Adamant
EVs:252 Attack 252 Speed 4 Sp.Defense
•Sandstorm:Activates Sand Force, Damages most opponents, Focus Sash lets you set it up
•Earthquake:Strong STAB, ability boosts it
•Iron Head:Strong STAB, ability boosts it
•Reversal:Very powerful when it is at 1HP, and this thing is holding a focus sash and has pretty bad defenses and a horrible HP stat

Alolan Dugtrio@Focus Sash
Trait: Sand Force
Nature: Jolly (+Speed, - Sp. Attack)
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 HP
Role: Doubles Sandstorm Sweeper

Moves:

  • Iron Head
  • High Horsepower
  • Rock Slide
  • Reversal

This set also works in singles, but I would use Earthquake instead of High Horsepower in that case. Iron Head for STAB, and great flinch chance (30%). High Horsepower for STAB. Rock Slide for Fire Coverage, and it hits both opponents in double battles. Reversel is for when the Focus Sash is used. Which is highly likely because Dugtrio is pretty fragile.

Dugtrio-Alola @ Liechi Berry
Ability: Tangling Hair / Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

  • Earthquake
  • Iron Head
  • Reversal
  • Substitute

Earthquake is STAB and covers Fire types, Iron Head is STAB with a high flinch rate, making it pair nicely with Alolan Dugtrio's 350 Speed stat. Reversal is a 200 Base Power move at 1 HP, which can be abused with Substitute and Liechi Berry. Substitute lets you block a hit, making revenge-killing significantly harder. Every time it is used, it also powers up Reversal, and after 4 uses, Reversal reaches its peak and Liechi Berry is activated at the same time (With 31 HP IVs and without EV investment, Alolan Dugtrio's HP stat is 211. Odd HP numbers allow the use of Substitute 4 times, after the 4th use, the user will be down to 1% HP. )
