How is the three starter glitch in Pokemon Gold performed?

I want all three starters in my virtual console Pokemon Gold. Please help.

I don't know of a specific three starter glitch, but it might be one of the many coin case glitches.

Answer 1

1. Choose your starter
2. Get to the part to get your Pokeballs & catch a Pokemon
3. Put your Pokemon in a box
4. Switch your boxes
5. Soft-Reset your game
6. Do steps 1 & 2 again
7. Check your box. There should be a Pokemon in there.
