Need help with cute charm shiny glitch?

Question

So I’ve been playing through Diamond using the cute charm glitch with a male Cleffa that I traded over from my Soul Silver version, but I want to stop using Cleffa and use my Lopunny with cute charm so I can actually use six Pokémon in battles, but it never gives me a shiny when Lopunny is in front or when I tried using a cute charm Cleffa I found in Diamond, is there anyone who can help me with this?

The glitch only works for one gender, so if your Lopunny is the opposite gender of your Cleffa, then that’s why. If not, then it’s probably just bad RNG.
