PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I've been training for a battle with a friend recently, and I just realized link trades might not be capped at level 50.

Also, if you can cap it at 50, can you cap it at another level (i.e. 75 or 25).

Thanks.

There are two formats in Link Battles: Standard Rules and No Restrictions. All Pokémon used will be set to level 50 in Standard Rules. In No Restrictions, the Pokémon have open levels. So if both you and your friend's Pokémon are level 25/75 then they will stay that level in No Restrictions. If they're over level 50 in Standard Rules they will be rounded off to level 50. If they're under level 50, they'll stay the level they are.
You should put that as an answer instead of a comment.
That's what I thought too
I'm going to do it even though Ginny already did.

Yes and no.

When it comes to Link Battles(unlike the Battle Spot), you can choose to have all Pokemon set to level 50, or all Pokemon at their current levels, meaning that if you have level 100 or level 1 Pokemon, they will be at that level in battle.

However, there is no battle setting to have Pokemon be set at level 25, 75, or any other specified level.

Hope I helped ;)
