Toxic or Glare for my serperior double battles?

I use my Serperior as a Assistant/Protector for my Mega Charizard Y, Since my Serperior is faster than my Mega it can dish out attacks first, but I'm just wondering if Toxic is better than glare. If you guys can help me out, that would be great.

I mean in the battle Tree, And Competitive Double Battles with other people. So I'm training so I can be better at double battles, because I'm not good with double battle teams.

When you do competitive battles, is it VGC or something else? Are there any Pokemon, moves, or items that you're not allowed to use?

I don't know what version you are talking about and I don't know much about competitive so I'm going off of a
double battles in one of new games. I would use Toxic over Glare if it was my Serperior because of its poison effect. Glare is not the best status move in the game by a mile due to the fact that it causes paralysis but does no damage. Glares only benefit is that it can hit Ground type Pokemon. Toxic is better though because it deals damage over time. So if you are close to beating someone, it can give that extra nudge to help you win. Also with paralysis it lowers the speed and gives the Pokemon a 25% of not attacking. So 3 out of 4 attacks will hit. Overall it would probably be best to get Toxic.
