Steel Beam is a new steel-type special move that costs the user half of its maximum HP in recoil. Normally, Pokémon games always round down, but there is one exception in Mind Blown, which has the same recoil as Steel Beam and rounds up. If I have an odd HP amount, will the recoil from Steel Beam take away half of my max HP rounded down, which will allow me to use it three times, or will it round up and stop me after two?

Steel Beam rounds up and will stop you after two uses. I know this from the rent Duraludon in the Battle Tower, which knows Steel Beam. It has an odd number of HP, yet it is knocked below 50% when it uses the attack.

This annoys me, but I try to see it as a positive. In the case of that Duraludon, letting it faint sooner allows me to send in a set-up sweeper faster, before my opponent uses too many Calm Minds or whatnot.
