I’m curious about how Pokemon games teleport you to each location?

Question

When you Enter a building or cave and the screen turns black are you in the building or are you in a cell somewhere off map? I recently read an article where it talked about the Arceus event with the Hall of Origin, and how when the event is triggered the staircase isn’t spawned onto Spear Pillar but you are teleported to a cell with an exact replica of Spear Pillar with the stairs on it. Is this an example of what happens every time you enter a building, or cave?

The blackness is just the game loading in the next room. Until it loads in the next room, you are probably in the room you entered the door from.
