I'm curious, how many Latiases are there?

How many of Latias is there? I know they have counterpart Latios, but is it like a legendary that there's only one, or are they just really really rare?

Legendaries have no confirmed number. Theories exist, but there is no real answer.

Can I ask for this to be reopened? Latias' Emerald Pokedex entry states that "They make a small herd of only several members. They rarely make contact with people or other Pokémon. They disappear if they sense enemies.'
I guess we don't know exactly how many, but there are more than one.
