Can Wide Guard work if the user switches out?

Question

for example lets say your doing a single battle and your machamp used wide gaurd can you switch out and bring out a different Pokemon with the effects of wide gaurd?

Wide guard affects all teammates for one turn. So it will theoretically work if you use wide guard, switch out, and then the opponent attacks, but I can't think of a way to do all 3 things in that order in one turn.

Wide Guard only lasts one turn, so in singles, it’s pretty much always worse than Protect.

Well, like sumwun said, theoretically, it is possible. However, I do not believe you can use that move and switch out. Abilities like emergency exit could make the wide guard work, however, the problem would be that even if you switch out, the wide guard would go away, so I do not believe so.
