Lonely Nature
- Body Slam
- Waterfall
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam

If you're using Poliwag on a rain team, use Swift Swim. If not, go with Water Absorb. Waterfall is STAB. Ice Beam covers Poliwag's Grass weakness, while Earth Power covers its Electric weakness. Body Slam is a solid move with a good chance of paralysis.

Cool set,but with Poliwags bad offenses,even with Life Orb,you won't hit hard enough to kill things.

Hydro Pump is the strongest STAB Poliwag gets,but can miss.Surf is more reliable STAB,but is weaker.Blizzard is Poliwags strongest coverage,but it can miss.Ice Beam is more reliable,but is weaker.Psychic is awesome,as it can lower Special,but if you are making a Gen 1 LC team,you probably have a Psychic Type,so Psychic may not be needed.Hypnosis goes well with Poliwags amazing speed,but can miss.Alternatively,you could use psychic,but if you are making a Gen 1 LC team,you probably have a Psychic Type,so Psychic may not be needed and Poliwag has bad defenses,so getting up sleep is crucial.Amnesia is the crux of the set,as it raises your special 2 times,and with Poliwags amazing speed,it can outspeed almost everything and OHKO everything because of having a 2+ special boost.Ideally,you would outspeed and hit Hypnosis,then Amnesia up and start sweeping.If they don't switch out,keep setting up Amnesias until you are at 6+.Once they switch,start sweeping.At 6+,you are basically unstoppable.
