If you have a good competitive moveset for Clamperl, post an answer below and upvote the best ones. For its evolutions, see the Gorebyss and Huntail moveset questions.

Be sure to include full set details in your post, e.g. items, abilities, natures and EVs. Some explanation, including the intended game mode for your set, is also appreciated. Access the full list of guidelines here.

Gen 7 LC

Clamperl @ Deep Sea Tooth
Ability: Rattled
Level: 5
EVs: 4 Atk / 244 SpA / 76 SpD / 180 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shell Smash
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Body Slam

The Deep Sea Tooth doubles it's Special Attack. Shell Smash doubles it's Speed and Special Attack even more, Scald is nice STAB with a chance to Burn and Ice Beam is coverage. Shell Smash also raises Clamperl's Attack, so Body Slam is neutral coverage with a chance to Paralyze.

Gen 7 Doubles Trick Room Rain
Clamperl
Clamperl @ Deep Sea Tooth
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe OR 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Quiet Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 0 Spe
- Protect
- Ice Beam
- Scald / Surf / Muddy Water
- Hidden Power [Psychic]

EVs are up to you. Its defensive capabilities are very low so def or spdef is entirely up to your preference (note that you shouldn't invest in speed at all)

This is a kinda sus tr rain sweeper that noone is fully aware of. The ivs given are to maximise speed in trick room plus giving some coverage to grass/fighting types and everything that resists water and ice moves thanks to HP psychic. With the evs given , you give it some longevity due to its low hp base while maximising its special attack stat.
Deep sea tooth doubles the spatk stat of clampearl to over 540 making it a noticeable special sweeper in trick room rain team.
Protect is there to ensure that it will survive a turn for trick room to activate.

I haven't included the tier it is going to fit in because I'll be using it alongside OU Pokemon and bellow
Team mates recommendations:
Rain is there only for the resistances and water moves boost and to help other teammates with their abilities.
For example: ferrothorn and bronzong's weakness to fire, sweeper pelipper with rain dish etc.
You can play and experiment with various team combinations in trick room and rain.
Cheers
