Okay with some experience fighting Lycanroc HO and asking some people, this should help you understand about it.
I asked A Bread Sandwich to give me a basic rundown of Lycanroc HO and this is what he said:
Ok so basically lycanroc is meant to set rocks and cloyster is used to remove hazards and set spikes
that rest of the team slots are used for offensive mons.
He also told me to look at this. Since that is about National Dex AG (and I assume you are asking about Gen 8 AG), I asked Kaitlen about Gen 8 AG. She said:
> It should be the same team member. just lead cloyster if the oppo has another suicide lead.
Now for the team members
Lycanroc @ Focus Sash
Ability: Keen Eye
Nature: Naive
EVs: 252 Atk | 252 Spe
IVs: 0 HP | 0 Def | 0 SpD
Moves: Rock Tomb | Endeavor | Stealth Rock | Taunt
Basically, you want to be brought to your sash. You Taunt if opponent tries to set up hazards, Rock Tomb to slow down faster opponents or mons that try to spam Max Airstream, Set up Rocks, then when at your sash, Endeavor if you have the chance.
Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Ability: Skill Link
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 4 HP | 252 Atk | 252 Spe
Moves: Icicle Spear | Spikes | Shell Smash | Rapid Spin
Cloyster works well with Lycanroc because it handles suicide leads that Lycanroc can't handle. Icicle Spear deals decent damage and helps with Subs and Sashes. Cloyster also spins away hazards while setting up spikes.
While the rest of the team are offensive mons like LO Yveltal Ddance, Dusk Mane, and others, I just want to give a shoutout to Marshadow for being able to revenge kill, and if the Dittos go crazy trying to copy Cloyster and spin away hazards, Marshadow can stop them in their tracks (you have to be careful if they go for icicle spear instead).
You should have a good idea on how it works, especially with the article breaking it all down. Lycanroc sets rocks, Cloyster spins hazards while setting up spikes, and rest is offensive mons. Hope this helps.
