Can Pokémon gain experience in Pokémon go?

Question

When you battle people in Pokémon go, do you gain experience and or extra cp?

Just curious as I’m trying to train my Pokémon...

No. You can raise your Pokemon's CP by powering up your Pokemon, or evolving them.
