PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I’ve been wondering for a while if the gift eevee in these games can be shiny. I know that the majority of gift Pokémon in black2/white2 are shiny locked because they have a set nature but the eevee does not. Neither do the gift magikarp or the fossils which I know can be shiny. There isn’t a lot of information out there about this eevee and if it’s shiny locked or not.

Whether the Pokemon has a set nature is not a distinction for whether it is shiny locked.

It would appear that the HA Pokémon without overworld sprites have the standard xor PID check in place. (Eevee, Deerling as well as Zorua).

The other standard gift Pokemon without overworld sprites such Happiny (egg) and Magikarp do not have this in place.

Project Pokemon is a large ROM hacking platform with some of the most knowledgeable people in the game.

This means that the Eevee is shiny locked, along with the other HA gift Pokemon.

This is literally the only slightly credible source on the internet I challenge anyone to find better information.
