Gen 9 NU Bulky Dual Dance

Flamigo @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Scrappy
Tera Type: Flying / Fighting / Electric
EVs: 236 HP / 16 Atk / 88 SpD / 168 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Agility
- Acrobatics
- Close Combat

A bulky dual dance set I've been using in Gen 9 NU recently. This set is inspired by the Bulky Dual Dance sets Porygon-Z uses in Gen 9 NU to become a scary sweeper. You can use this under Aurora Veil to have more breathing room to get off both Swords Dance and Agility. Swords Dance allows Flamigo to boost its attack stat to have more breaking power. Agility allows Flamigo to outspeed all of the unboosted metagame, as well as things such as Choice Scarf Flygon and Choice Scarf Munkidori after getting off 1 Agility. Acrobatics is used for the STAB move since Flamigo will either consume its berry or have it removed via Knock Off, allowing it to have a powerful Flying STAB that doesn't deal recoil damage. Close Combat is standard Flamigo stuff, with Scrappy allowing it to hit Ghost-types as well as Pokemon who Tera Ghost. Sitrus Berry allows Flamigo to recover some HP to help Flamigo get off both Swords Dance and Agility. Tera Flying and Tera Fighting allows Flamigo to have an extra boost to Acrobatics or Close Combat. You can use a Tera Type like Electric to prevent Flamigo from getting paralyzed.

168 Speed EVs allow Flamigo to outspeed Choice Scarf Munkidori after getting off an Agility. 16 Attack EVs with an Adamant Nature allows Flamigo to get a jump point for its Attack stat. 88 Special Defense EVs allow Flamigo to have a special defense stat higher than its defense stat to prevent Download Porygon-Z from getting a special attack boost when it comes in on Flamigo. The rest of the EVs are used in HP for bulk and puts Flamigo's HP stat at an even HP number. You can use an alternate EV spread of EVs: 228 HP / 16 Atk / 84 SpD / 180 Spe, which allows Flamigo to outspeed Choice Scarf Infernape after getting of an Agility while still having its HP at an even number.

Gen 9 Monotype Choice Scarf (Fighting)

Flamigo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Brave Bird
- Facade / Roost
- U-turn

The off-brand version of Galarian Zapdos, aka Flamigo, has a niche on Fighting teams as a revenge killer that can hit Ghost-types with its Fighting STAB due to Scrappy. Close Combat is used for a powerful Fighting STAB that can even hit Ghost-types such as Dragapult, Gholdengo, Froslass, Sableye, and Skeledirge. Brave Bird is used for a powerful Flying STAB. Even though Facade doesn't provide much coverage, Facade is used to allow Flamigo to do something should it get afflicted by a status condition, especially burns. If you want to use this set in lower tiers such as PU, use Roost over Facade. While Roost is wierd on a Choiced set, it's useful to use on a predicted switch or should Flamigo's item gets knocked off. U-turn allows Flamigo to pivot and create momentum for your team.

Flamigo @ Leftovers
Ability: Scrappy
Tera Type: Any
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Brave Bird
- Facade
- U-turn

Pretty standard. leftovers for survivability. facade with scrappy is solid. close combat and brave bird are powerful stabs.

Why would you use Facade without any status effect? Why Leftovers over Choice Band or Choice Scarf? Should I use Tera Flying over Tera Dragon/Tera Normal? Why no Roost if Leftovers?
Roost means sacrificing another move, Tera flying is a good idea, so is stellar. And everything else can be modified.

Gen 9 NU Offensive Swords Dance

Flamigo @ Fist Plate / Sitrus Berry / No item
Ability: Scrappy
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Brave Bird / Acrobatics
- Roost

An offensive Swords Dance set Flamigo can use in Gen 9 NU. This set is used alongside Choice Scarf Munkidori, forming a good offensive core known as Flamunki, with Flamigo being free to use sets such as Swords Dance or Choice Band with Munkidori using Choice Scarf.

With Swords Dance, Flamigo boosts its attack stat to make it harder to switch into with its dual STABs that not even Ghosts want to switch into thanks to Scrappy. You can use the opponent switching out due to them being choice locked as well as the switches Flamigo forces as opportunities to setup Swords Dance. Flamigo's dual STABs pair nicely, since most Pokemon who can switch into Close Combat doesn't want to switch into Flamigo's Flying STAB, and vice versa. Brave Bird is Flamigo's powerful flying STAB that is useful to deal with checks to Close Combat such as Amoonguss, Toxicroak, and Sylveon. Alternatively, you can use Acrobatics for a safer Flying STAB that doesn't force Flamigo to take recoil damage. If you use Acrobatics, you'll need to be either itemless, or use Sitrus Berry if you want a little HP recovery before using Acrobatics. Roost provides Flamigo with reliable HP recovery to be able to last longer, and is useful to offset Brave Bird recoil damage if you choose Brave Bird as the Flying STAB. Tera Fighting is used to make Close Combat stronger.

Fist Plate allows +2 Close Combat to basically OHKO Diancie since Diancie doesn't use a physically defensive spread in NU, as it uses either Offensive Trick Room or Specially Defensive. Fist Plate also allows a +2 Close Combat combined with Tera Fighting to OHKO Bellibolt that hasn't Tera'd into a Poison-type:

+2 252 Atk Fist Plate Tera Fighting Flamigo Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Bellibolt: 440-518 (104.2 - 122.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Sitrus Berry is an option to help offset Brave Bird recoil damage and can help you live unboosted Cinccino's Tail Slap as well as unboosted Flygon's Scale Shot. You can also go itemless, but only if you use Acrobatics for the Flying STAB.

Gen 9 Fighting Monotype

Flamigo @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Brave Bird / Dual Wingbeat
- Facade
- Throat Chop

I tried to make my version slightly different than -RisingManectric- (sorry if it's too similar). 115 Atk is pretty cool, with a choice band bringing it's Attack to 493! STAB Close Combat hits like a truck, same with Brave Bird. It has a lot of recoil though, so Dual Wingbeat is an alternative. Facade is for if you get statused (this is great if you get burned!), and Throat Chop... If you come up against a Psychic mono team, terastallize into the Dark type, and give those guys a nasty surprise.
