I may have gotten a hacked or generated egg. A 6IV shiny Bagon hatched from it. Is the Bagon considered hacked (I can't use it in online play) or is it legit (can be used online)?

Edit: my game is Pokemon Violet

How do you know the egg is genned/hacked? Is it just a guess?
I was wonder trading and the user's name was Shinyden.com I think, and with that egg and that name, I assumed it was probably hacked

Unless a Pokemon has stats, moves, or an ability that it is completely impossible for it to have, your Pokemon will be allowed to be used competitively.

Since it is possible to get a 6 IV Shiny Bagon, it will work perfectly fine in competitive. Considering you didn't mention what game, I can't provide specific details for your situation, but I can assure it will work perfectly fine in a Ranked Battle.

Hope I could help!

There are many other ways to prove a hacked Pokemon, which the developers have been lax with applying but I would still imagine reach further than just "the moves and stats are possible". How do you know that Gen 9 does not check more than this?
To my knowledge, a human has a better chance of figuring out if a Pokemon is hacked than the hack check system. Checking where a Pokemon is from in the Summary screen is a massive indicator.

Also, people like Pimpnite still use obviously modded Pokemon in Gen 9 with no apparent hurdles to jump.

I am curious with the introduction of Picnics. What happens to it's "place of origin" if an egg is genned in? Since picnics can take place in any location on the map, it might be harder to identify a hacked egg, but my Gen 9 experience is very low, so I am unable to create a reasonable guess on what might happen.
The only major pitfall to watch out for now is passing down an impossible ball, such as Safari Ball or Sport Ball prior to Home opening up for transfers (and after it opens up, those balls will still be impossible for newly introduced evolution lines like Baxcalibur). Most notably, the Paldea starter lines have not been made available to *catch* in any raids or otherwise, and unless and until they are, those species can only ever have the standard Poke Ball because that's what the gift starter at the beginning of the game comes in.

In the past, it was also possible to pass down hidden abilities on species like Litten and Passimian before those abilities were legal (but now, in the era of the Ability Patch, this is a non-issue as everything in the game that has a distinct HA now also has guaranteed access to it), or impossible combinations of egg moves (which again were phased out as a factor after mothers became eligible to pass down egg moves, and later the use of picnic transfer for moves made it even more convenient).
