I want to shiny hunt some of the in-game trades but I don't know if they're shiny locked or not, I've gotten shinies form trades in Let's go but Bulbapedia doesn't say anything about these ones having the chance of being shiny or not, unlike Let's go and Isle of Amour.

I’ll allow it, since it’s independent. I don’t think the other answer comments on this.

Between RBY and LGPE, all in-game trade Pokemon are completely pre-determined; every value is the same. The only game between these where in-game trade Pokemon can be shiny is in Pokemon XD. Unless the trade is coded to be shiny, the in-game trade Pokemon will not be shiny.

This is different from gift Pokemon, where some Pokemon can be shiny and some Pokemon can't. This depends on the game and the individual Pokemon.

Hope I could help, please ask if you have more questions! There is a lot of depth to topics like these.

I don't know if the source mentions specifically between RBY and LGPE, it seems to only be referring to XY.
Hmm, so if I were to do a couple trades and if it's gender or stats were different it would mean it's possible? (I forgot how shinies were calculated in gen 1/2)
Yancy's and Curtis's trades have random genders and natures, so maybe they also have random personality values and can be shiny.
@Shane-O, yes. Any Gen 1 Pokemon can be shiny when transferred to Gen II or Pokemon Bank.

@sumwun there is no evidence online that Yancy/Curtis trades can be shiny but if the genders and natures are random I would assume other similar non-essential values would be random too
