Can Entei or Raikou be from other games to acquire Suicune in Ultra Sun?

Question

In Ultra Sun, I read you need both Raikou and Entei in your party to encounter Suicune, but those two are version exclusive. So I'm wondering if I brought over them from Alpha Sapphire, would that work? I do already have Suicune in Alpha Sapphire, but I want one for Ultra Sun too.

I used a Thundurus from Gen 5 and Tornadus from Gen 6 to trigger Landorus in Ultra Sun. I don’t see why this would be any different.

You don't need to catch either, you just need both in your party from any source

Yes, they can be from other games. This only sometimes matters, like

In HGSS, you need a Groudon and Kyogre both from HgSs to unlock a static encounter with Rayquaza at the Embedded Tower.

but in USUM, it (probably) doesn't matter in most of the encounters like this.
