Can anyone give me a basic rundown on FR? [closed]

Question

I'm doing a FR run. My team is Charmeleon, Pideotto, Beedrill, Pikachu, Oddish, and Zubat

I've beat Brock ; currently struggling against Misty.
I need a basic rundown on everything to expect in this game.
Tbh this is my first time playing an official Pokémon game. Tips/tricks will be hugely beneficial

If you want to prepare for boss battles, the strongest bosses in this particular game are the rival, gym leaders, Giovanni, and the Elite Four. You can look up their teams on Bulbapedia. Does this help?
