In Legends: Z-A, approaching a wild shiny Pokemon plays a special sound effect (not to be confused with the sound that plays when you send out a caught shiny Pokemon).

What is the distance at which the sound will play? Does the radius of this distance form a sphere (i.e., being vertically displaced affects your distance) or a cylinder (i.e., only 2 axes are considered)?

Please answer with a quantitative number; the in-game unit can be seen by placing a pin on the map.

Anecdotally it appears to be roughly 30 units. Not sure about vertical distance.
I know there’s two sounds. One when you get in range, and one when you look at it
Yeah good point. I'm mainly curious about the former since sometimes I hear the noise in cramped areas and I'm not really sure what range I should be searching in, or whether it may be on a roof that I passed under.
