Do Stakataka or the other Ultra Beasts have smart battle AI?

I'm fighting Stakataka and it kept going for Rock Blast against my Dewgong, so now I'm curious.

Specifically choosing the super effect move instead of just clicking random stuff. There's probably more that defines smart battle AI, but I don't know what all it is.
