Gen V

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 8 HP / 252 Def / 232 SpA / 16 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Flamethrower
- Psyshock
- Calm Mind

Okay, this guy is just awesome. Scald provides nice powered STAB that also will burn the foe fairly frequently, further increasing your defensive power, Psyshock is also STAB that takes care of Blissey and Chansey. Flamethrower is really cool type coverage, I find it just awesome that Slowbro gets this move. Calm Mind allows you to be even more defensively powerful, as it increases the sub-par Special Defense stat. It also allows for more EVs to be put into other stats, as it also raises Special Attack. Your defense is maxed out because you have no way to boost it besides technically with Scald burning. The special based EVs give Slowbro good stats to work off of with Calm Mind, and I also added in a few EVs for HP. Leftovers helps Slowbro survive even longer. Regenerator is a great ability, as if Slowbro is in trouble, you can switch out and heal up. One of my favorite Pokemon.

And to think, had they just made Slowbro evolve into Slowking instead of making them two separate evolution chains, he would be able to use the evolite. *shudders*
Glad that didn't happen. I like Slowbro as is. Powerful yet in no way unfair.
Wow, that's an awesome moveset, trachy, very bulky in defenses, nice!  That's actually what I like about Water-Type Pokemon so much, they can utilize a ton of moves to do just about anything with it, such as Slowbro.
I would like him to be able to use the Eviolite, and give slowking a buff. That would have made Slowbro an even better tank than he already is.
Love this moveset :), but why not psychic? higher power.
Psyshock is to beat special walls like Chansey.
Love this set! I am using him currently on my UM playthrough and he is just plowing through trainers. Thanks a lot, mate!

Gen 8 OU, National Dex

Slowbro @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature

  • Scald
  • Future Sight
  • Teleport
  • Slack Off

This thing is absolutely everywhere right now. Very surprised nobody has posted the Gen 8 set. Scald is STAB and unlike a certain Crown-of-thorns starfish, it actually does quite a bit of damage (coming off of Slowbro's 100 Special Attack). However, that's not why this move is here, it's because of the 30% burn chance, which is incredible. Slowbro becomes EVEN MORE physically bulky after the Scald burn. Pure evil. STAB Future Sight scares Toxapex and chips/ does quite a lot / knocks out opponents. This is very important in the age of Heavy-Duty Boots and Defog, as it can act as some sort of pseudo-hazard I guess. Future Sight also greatly appreciates hazards itself (if you can keep them up, that is), because it chips the enemy further. Teleport is a -6 priority switch move, which brings Slowbro's teammate in for free. Slowbro doesn't have to worry about Speed tieing with Clefable, since Slowbro is much slower than Clef. Bro also has access to Regenerator, so you get healed 33% when you bring in a teammate for free, which is absolutely insane and is compounded by the fact that Slowbro is holding Heavy-Duty Boots to ignore Spikes, Stealth Rock, and Toxic Spikes. Slack Off heals 50% of Slowbro's HP, which lets Slowbro heal without having to switch out.

Gen 9 NU Calm Mind

Slowbro @ Leftovers / Covert Cloak
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 248 HP / 176 Def / 84 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Psychic Noise
- Slack Off

A Calm Mind set Slowbro can use in Gen 9 NU. Calm Mind boosting Slowbro's Special Attack and Special Defense allow it to take special hits more comfortably while having a more offensive presence. Scald is used for the Water STAB since it has a 30% burn chance, allowing Slowbro to cripple physical wallbreakers such as Lycanroc-Dusk, Mienshao, Flygon, and Gallade. Psychic Noise is used for the Psychic STAB since it allows Slowbro to prevent opposing Pokemon from recovering HP for 2 turns. Slack Off is used to give Slowbro a reliable source of HP recovery to let Slowbro stay alive longer. Leftovers is used to give Slowbro a little HP recovery each turn. Covert Cloak can be used so Slowbro can be a Scald switch in, which is useful against opposing Slowbro. Regenerator is used for the Ability to let Slowbro recover HP every time it switches out.

84 Speed EVs allow Slowbro to outspeed Rhyperior as well as other slow Pokemon such as Copperajah, Reuniclus, and Quagsire. 248 HP EVs are used for bulk and is used to let Slowbro maximize its use of Regenerator since it puts Slowbro's HP at 393. The rest of the EVs are used in Defense with a Bold Nature to help take physical hits.

Usually, Slowbro uses Tera Fairy. However, Slowbro then becomes weak to Poison moves. This set uses Tera Poison instead. With Tera Poison, Slowbro resists Poison and becomes immune to Toxic, allowing it to blank Pokemon such as Vileplume and Alolan Muk. Tera Poison also lets Slowbro still resist Fighting moves, which is nice.

Cursebro (Slowbro) @ Zoom Lens
Ability: Regenerator
Careful Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 AtK
- Aqua Tail
- Zen Headbutt
- Slack Off
- Curse

Zoom Lens is to make sure the 10% miss chance is erased, as you'll almost always go last. Aqua Tail and Zen Headbutt are obligatory STAB moves. The EV spread is for maximum bulk after setup. Slack Off and Curse are the setup moves.

Using this set: Curse until +6 ATK and DEF, whilst using Slack Off when necessary, then, proceed to smash heads in.

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Slowbro
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Scald
- Slack Off

This Pokémon’s Defense is astronomical, and its Special Attack is amazing. This Pokémon does its very best on a Trick Room team. Calm Mind boosts Special Attack for better offensive capabilities, along with boosting Special Defense, and having good Special Defense along with that Defense makes it hard to knock this thing out. Psychic is STAB. Scald is STAB and can burn, and a burned physical attacker against this Pokémon’s Defense wont even hit very hard using a physical super effective attack. Slack Off is good recovery.

Gen 8 SWSH Monotype (Psychic)

Slowbro @ Kasib Berry / Colbur Berry / Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Foul Play / Body Press / Ice Beam
- Slack Off
- Teleport

Basically the FuturePort set, but without Future Sight. Psychic mono in SWSH Monotype runs the weakness reducing berries to help with matchups against Ghost- and Dark-types. Slowbro is one of the Pokemon who can use a weakness reducing berry to deal with certain Pokemon. Scald is Water STAB that is used for the 30% burn chance to threaten physical wallbreakers. Slack Off lets you heal off damage. Teleport is used to help generate momentum for the team since it allows you to bring in a teammate safely. Foul Play is used along with Kasib Berry so you can survive a Phantom Force Dragapult should it get to +2 Attack so you can OHKO it with Foul Play. Foul Play also OHKOes Dragapult after it gets off 1 Dragon Dance, which is nice. Body Press is used alongside Colbur Berry so you can OHKO Bisharp with Body Press, with Colbur Berry letting you act as an emergency check should Bisharp get to +2 attack. Rocky Helmet can be used instead to punish physical wallbreakers by forcing them to take chip damage, and is used with Ice Beam, which lets you deal super effective damage to Dragon-types such as Garchomp and Dragonite.

Galarian Slowking forms a really good defensive core alongside Slowbro, as they both have Regenerator and good bulk. Wallbreakers like Victini, Latios, and Tapu Lele appreciate the momentum from Teleport so they can come in safely. Choice Scarf Latias provides Defog support for the team, which Slowbro appreciates so it doesn't have to worry about entry hazards. Entry hazard setters like Jirachi and Mew are useful to help wear down opposing Pokemon with Stealth Rock and Spikes to punish them for switching out.

Some calcs with and without the weakness reducing berries:

VS Bisharp:
Without Colbur Berry:

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 595-702 (151 - 178.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

With Colbur Berry:

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Colbur Berry Slowbro: 298-351 (75.6 - 89%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

VS Dragapult

+2 Phantom Force without Kasib Berry:

+2 252+ Atk Dragapult Phantom Force vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 410-486 (104 - 123.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

With Kasib Berry:

+2 252+ Atk Dragapult Phantom Force vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Kasib Berry Slowbro: 205-243 (52 - 61.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

So, yeah. Kasib / Colbur Berry Slowbro is a cool tech on Psychic-type teams to deal with some troublesome Pokemon like Dragon Dance Dragapult and Bisharp. Have fun using this set if you use it!

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder Wave / Psychic
- Slack Off / Yawn
- Nasty Plot
- Hydro Pump / Scald

Thunder Wave can be used to support your teams and speed control. Psychic is decent STAB

Hydro Pump for strong STAB and Scald for weaker STAB but a 30% chance to burn.

Why Regen & Tera Fire?
Regen is to keep Slowbro alive for longer and help keep it alive for the end game. That's the wrong Tera type so I will change it. :)
You do have Slack Off
Yes, the set has Slack Off, but Regenerator is still good on Slowbro due to it recovering HP to heal off damage from attacks and entry hazards, letting Slowbro not have to use Slack Off as much.

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers

Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Def / 112 SpA / 16 SpD
Bold Nature
- Amnesia
- Toxic
- Surf
- Flamethrower

1 Amnesia, and you're a total pain in the butt to kill.

Throw in Toxic, and two moves that cover each other well, and you're now Just totally pissing your opponent off.

Surf is STAB and Flamethrower is to cover Grass and Steel.

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
Nature: Modest / Quiet
EVs: 200 SpA / 100 Def / 260 HP
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Flamethrower
- Psyshock / Ice Beam / Shadow Ball

Calm Mind boosts your offense and your lowest defensive stat, making you a super tank that hits hard and never dies!

Scald is not only a great offensive move but it has a 30% burn chance as well! This is an amazing move for a special tank.

Flamethrower covers Grass and Bug weaknesses as well as most Steel types.

Psyshock/Ice Beam/Shadow Ball if you choose any of them you will have a great offensive move: Psyshock provides excellent coverage and STAB and it greatly helps against the rise of Fighting types. Ice Beam can cover the Dragons and more coverage on Grass types, and it can also help kill the new threat of Gliscor. Shadow Ball provides coverage against your Ghost weakness and other Psychics.

Double/Triple battle

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 80 HP / 176 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Trick Room
- Surf
- Heal Pulse / Blizzard
- Psychic

Trick Room is such a useful move in multi-battles. It allows a team of slow Pokemon to sweep the foe. Five turns is enough time as you don't waste anytime switching out. You have your sweepers already there. Surf is STAB that hits multiple foes. Psychic is also STAB. Since you have other Pokemon out, you'll likely have something able to take down Blissey/Chansey, so there is no need to use Psyshock. Heal Pulse provides team support, although it can be replaced with Blizzard to provide coverage. Own Tempo allows you to be teamed up with a Flatter user in order to raise your Special Attack. It also protects from Teeter Dance.

Slowbro (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 232 SpA / 16 SpD
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam / Psyshock
- Slack Off

Bulky Pokemon, Rocky Helmet stall but if that doesn't work then stall them and attack. However, if it's to slow to Slack Off, then switch out with the Regenerator ability. Definitely the best Water Pokemon there has ever been. Scald is to get a burn and good damage.

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 20 HP / 96 Def / 220 SpA / 172 SpD
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Slack Off
- Calm Mind

Scald for STAB, chance to burn meaning he will be bulkier as a physical wall.
Psyshock for STAB, and to hit special walls.
Slack Off to heal.
Calm Mind to improve his special bulk and boost Scald + Psyshock.

This is what I'm gonna try:

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
- Scald
- Psychic
- Calm Mind
- Slack Off

  • Scald (Burn chance, STAB)
  • Psychic (Chance to lower Special Defense, STAB, powerful)
  • Calm Mind (Offense raise, lowest Defense stat boosted)
  • Slack Off (HP recovery)

He wrecks as a tank.

Whee, more hipster sets. ;3

Slowbro @ Sitrus Berry / Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Belly Drum
- Trick Room / Ice Punch / Drain Punch
- Aqua Tail
- Zen Headbutt

Belly Drum gives you just about 1000 Attack, powerful stuff for the bulk it already has, if you run a Sitrus Berry then you can heal off some of the Belly Drum damage on the spot. Trick Room is used after smacking your belly so you can outspeed stuff, but you can alternately run those two other moves I gave if you want more coverage or something already has Trick Room in your team. Aqua Tail and Zen Headbutt are STABs.
You could use Own Tempo as an ability too if confusion never works to your favor.

Special Sweeper/Tank:

Slowbro @ Expert Belt
Ability: Own Tempo
Nature: Quiet / Modest
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 HP / 4 Def
- Scald
- Psychic / Psyshock
- Ice Beam
- Trick Room / Calm Mind

Scald is STAB that has almost a 1 third chance of burning, cutting foes attack by half and damaging. It's hard to find better. Psychic/Psyshock are more STAB, not to mention the latter does physical damage to bust through special walls/tanks. Ice Beam is coverage. Trick Room helps Slowbro go first, and any slow teammates too. Calm Mind makes him harder to kill. Quiet for Trick Room, Modest for Calm Mind.

Own Tempo is just about always inferior to Regenerator.

Slowbro (M) @ Slowbronite
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Toxic
- Calm Mind
- Rest / Slack Off

Toxic badly poisons the foe. Then, use Calm Mind to boost that decent Special Defense to a new level, while also boosting your Special Attack. Slack Off is used to heal, or Rest can be used to heal AND get rid of a status condition. Scald's only there if you get Taunted.

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Surf / Scald
- Psychic
- Calm Mind
- Slack Off

  • Surf / Scald (STAB, good power)
  • Psychic ( STAB, good power)
  • Calm Mind (He's bulky enough to last a hit and with a few of these he's ridiculous)
  • Slack Off (After a few Calm Minds he'll have lost some health so this will restore it)

This is what I'm planning on using for my competitive team in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. It's basically a coverage tank.

Slowbro @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Def
Modest / Bold Nature
- Slack Off
- Flamethrower
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam

  • Slack Off (Recovery)
  • Flamethrower (Used for dealing with Scizor, Ferrothorn, Escavalier, etc.)
  • Calm Mind (Boosts your mediocre Special Defense and your Special Attack)
  • Ice Beam (Used for dealing with Dragonite, Salamence, Garchomp, Rayquaza, etc.)

Prepare to read one of the greatest troll sets of all time.

Slowbro @ Leppa Berry
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 152 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Slack Off
- Recycle
- Yawn
- Disable

  • Slack Off: Heals Slowbro. Spam this.
  • Recycle: Gives Slowbro a new Leppa Berry.
  • Yawn: Annoys the enemy by forcing them to either switch or deal with sleep.
  • Disable: Shuts down powerful enemy moves.

Honestly your last two moves can be anything you want. Rest + Snore, Substitute, defensive buffs, whatever you want as long as it makes it harder for the enemy to kill Slowbro.

Strategy: Spam Slack Off over and over. Once it runs out of power points, the Leppa Berry will kick in. At some time after this, use Recycle to get a new berry, then return to spamming Slack Off. Use Yawn and Disable as needed to annoy the enemy. When Recycle itself runs out of power points, the berry will kick in and restore it as well. Continue spamming Slack Off for about 50 turns, at which point the opponent will rage quit, being unable to kill your Slowbro.

With this move set and the Leppa Berry, you can spam indefinitely barring Slowbro's tragic demise at the hands of some OP legendary or some weird move combo that would prevent healing or Recycle.
