I read your thing on meta, DT. I love your moveset. But back on subject, I'm just sad. Actually, sad hardly defines it.
Typhlosion (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Eruption
- SolarBeam
- Lava Plume
- Hidden Power [Rock]

This is the set I use in OU battles.

Suggested Item: Choice Specs; Choice Scarf
Suggested ability: blaze
- Eruption
- Extrasensory
- Hidden power [ice]
- Fire Blast

Eruption is to be used when at full power to get in some nice levels of damage. Fire blast is good when his health is low and blaze activates. Extrasensory covers a few fighting types like Infernape, and hidden power gives him a chance to break through a few dragons. The scarf will catch several people off guard and give him the shot he needs, or you can go with the specs and get some pretty strong hits.

Thanks DT.
I'd replace Fire Blast with Flamethrower, though, since it's a good move with better accuracy and more PP.
Fire Blast is not a good move for Typhlosion. It can learn Eruption, which has better accuracy (100) as wekk as 30 more damage (150).
My Typhlosion.
Game:Pokemon Moon.
[email protected] Helmet.
Ev's HP.
        Special Attack.
Eruption. (Stab,Full HP).
Rollout. (Sub Breaker).
Defence Curl. (Raise Defence).
Earthquake. (Coverage).

Don't know If it's any good,Was gonna go with

Shadow Claw.

Wouldn't mind hearin your opinions also thanks

Here are some good movesets
Earthquake(if you have an attack nature, if not, don't use this)
Thunderpunch(for water weakness, if he has good attack)
Flamethrower(good STAB move with acc., power, and pp.)
Hidden Power(If he has a grass type hidden power, this would cover all 3 of his weaknesses)

Sunny Day(for solarbeam)
Solarbeam(covers all 3 of typhlosions weaknesses)
Flamethrower(strong STAB)
Brick Break(strong accurate.)

Eruption(though might not be as good as flamethrower in most cases, STAB)
Shadow Claw(strong accurate, good against many types)
Hidden Power(grass type)or solarbeam and sunny day
Flamethrower(when you ar low in health.)

you can replace birck break with focus blast, i know its less accurate, but it ahs great power and you wont need to invest EVS in attack
i would add double team or protect for some possible cover

I made this set to catch people off guard, since Eruption or flamethrower is very predictable on Typhlosion.
Physical Typhlosion set:
Item: Liechi Berry or Choice Band

Endure-Saves that last bit of health. Works well with the berry.

Reversal-While a trite strategy, it's an unexpected one on Typhlosion.

Fire Punch-STAB; gets power from Blaze, so it can do quite a bit of damage.

Earthquake/Rock slide-This is mainly for type coverage, so you can put in whatever you wish.

This set is mainly for NU or UU use.

Nice, better than the Mixed set with Blast Burn in the Pt/HG/SS games, it was a Serious nature, such a terrible nature, I would go with Jolly nature and replace it with Fire Punch, I totally agree with this set, and I go with holding Salac Berry since Endure/Reversal sets tend to have them so you won't be outsped at just 1 HP remaining.

Mixed suicide Typhlosion.

Item:Choice Band/Liechi Berry/Salac Berry/Choice Scarg

Flare Blitz:STAB, the recoil helps activate his Blaze ability.

Wild Bolt:-Covers Water weakness;

Reversal:-Works great with Recoil.

Hidden power [grass]-Covers all weaknesses in one move.

This set can work nicely in double battles if you have a pokemon use support moves like heal pulse.

Another set I thought of:

Item: Power herb

Eruption-STAB, great power.

Solarbeam-Cover his weaknesses with one move.

Earthquake-covers several types of pokemon.

Hidden power [Ice]-While he can't cover water and rock types this way (he can with Solarbeam), he can take on dragon types now. It also deals with some flying type threats like Aerodactyl.

Physical Sweeper:

Item: expert Belt
Ability: Blaze
Evs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP

  • Wild Charge
  • Howl
  • Flare Blitz
  • Earthquake

This set is obviously outdone by pretty much any physical sweeper, but I tried this out a few times, and it works wonders. Most people switch into something like Chansey to sponge the expected fire blast or eruption, so this gives you a free shot to use howl and boost up his attack. He's got a pretty shallow special movepool (why the hell can't he learn earth power?) but his physical movepool is pretty nice. You could also use the move reversal, allowing him to cover even more pokemon, and work well with the recoil damage you get from wild charge and flare blitz. Though seldom seen, you could also use a focus sash+ covet to make a burglar Typhlosion.

Typhlosion (M) @ Heat Rock

  • Sunny Day
  • Solar Beam
  • Flamethrower/Fire Blast
  • Focus Blast/Will-o-wisp/Extrasensory/Whatever you want

Heat Rock will make Sunny Day more useful, making it last 8 turns, making the Fire type move more powerful and give access to 1 turn Solar beam which is very useful for coverage and power.Focus Blast is coverage and will-o-wisp is for status and attack-defense cut,or you may use any other good move like Extrasensory, etc.

Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf (M): The Mixed Sweeper

Trait: Flash Fire

EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 SpA.

  • Flamethrower: STAB. Good power and high accuracy.

  • Earthquake: Coverage for Rock. Awesome sauce move, should I explain it? Nope.

  • Flare Blitz: STAB. Awesome move. Who cares if recoil happens, xD.

  • ThunderPunch: Coverage on Water. It is decent. Leave the move alone. <.<
Typhlosion @ Leftovers (M): The Special Sweeper

Trait: Flash Fire

EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP.

  • Flamethrower: Like I said, good power and accuracy.

  • SolarBeam: SolarBeam is good. Sunny Day will do it... coverage on Water, Ground and Rock. Helps alot.

  • Sunny Day: SolarBeam combo... duh.

  • Eruption: Less HP, more power. Interesting. Leftovers does the work to make more power...
Typhlosion @ Life Orb (M): The Physical Sweeper

Trait: Blaze

EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP.

  • Flare Blitz: If you did this, Blaze could activate, which is awesome, plus Life Orb.

  • ThunderPunch: Coverage on Water. Power: Excellent. Accuracy: Nice.

  • Earthquake: Coverage on Rock, excellent. And really. You should know this.

  • Reversal: Due to Life Orb and the recoil, this will work alot, just like Flail.
Typhlosion @ Leftovers (M): The Defensive Bulky Dude

Trait: Flash Fire

EVs: 252 Def, 252 HP, 4 SpA.

  • Eruption: Nice power. Greater if you have less HP. (Less HP, more power.) STAB.

  • Toxic: Toxic, toxic, poison, ba-bam!

  • Focus Blast: focus... Blast! Coverage on Rock.

  • Will-O-Wisp: Burning fill of fire. Nice... :P
I like Bulky Defensive, but, you could choose any that you like. ~ Joseph.

lol Thaught about the special sweeper b4 i readed this XD, my opinion, special sweeper is best for typhlosion, sunny day/solar beam combo covers all weaknesses and the eruption/flamethrower is epic stab :D + if your in a double battle and u send out typhlosion and another pokemon with fire move the flash fire is realy good :D
Typhlosion is my favourite pokemon of all the 700 shomething pokemon that exists XD, also the first pokemon i ever used XD. BAAAAADAAAAAS FOR THE WIIIN

I must admit, this definetily is not the best moveset for Typhlosion, but my Big brother who hasn't played pokemon since Gold and Silver was messing around on my computer today, and he found Pokemon Online, He made Ev's and a moveset, which was fun to watch, and then I put in the Item for him. So in fewer words, this set actually has a little bit of centimental value :]

Typhlosion (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Blaze

EVs: 132 HP / 84 Atk / 56 Def / 160 SAtk / 20 SDef / 56 Spd

Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)

  • Overheat
  • Earthquake
  • ThunderPunch
  • Extrasensory
0 votes

Suggested ability: Blaze

Eruption-STAB; high power. At full power, this is essentially a blast burn that doesn't require charging. When his health starts to fall, the next move comes into play.

Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Overheat-Flamethrower is the most reliable of the three; overheat is the strongest, but cuts his special attack. Fire blast has the lowest accuracy, but has no other major drawbacks. Go with flamethrower if you want to be safe, but keep in mind that Typhlosion doesn't have time for being safe in most cases.

Hidden power [ice]/[grass]-Grass is there to cover all of his weaknesses at once. ice doesn't offer as much coverage, but gives him the power to tame dragons. Grass is more useful in the lower tiers he typically battles in.

Focus Punch-While this is a special set, Typhlosion can utilize this pretty well, especially if you're gonna risk running him in an upper tier. A Chansey or blissey would be a perfect choice to wall him out, and if you predict that, this focus punch can easily do away with it. An unsuspecting Tyranitar would fall to his 4X weakness. In the tiers we established here, it's pretty useful for taking out a few threats, like the special walling Umbreon.

Typhlosion (M) @ Life Orb

Role: Rainy Sweeper

Trait: Blaze

EVs: 226 Atk / 30 SAtk / 252 Spd

Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)

  • Extrasensory
  • Earthquake
  • Hidden Power [Water]
  • ThunderPunch

A Mixed set for the Rain.

Extrasensory gives great coverage for this monster, working nice. Thunder Punch gives some physical coverage and takes out some threatening water types. HP Water gets a boost in the rain, and can do a good bit of damage. While Earthquake is amazing coverage great for anything with a reasonable attack stat.

How do you get the picture to flash like that?
Anyone looking at the typhlosion should do so while listening to this:
I agree with Dt.
That was an amazing experience
Awesome! That was awesome!

I don't think anyone has posted this one yet....

TYPLHOSION [email protected] POWER HERB
ability --- BLAZE
evs -- 252 SP ATK, 252 SPEED, 4 HP
TIMID nature

FLAMETHROWER or FIRE BLAST --- STAB, accuracy or power your choice
SOLARBEAM -- coverage operates with the power herb
HP ICE -- more coverage! =D
EXTRASENSORY or COVET -- coverage or getting whatever item your opponent has after you lose yours. i personally prefer having that extra coverage here, but support is always nice.

Double/Triple battle

Typhlosion (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Eruption
- Extrasensory
- SolarBeam
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Well, here is my double/triple battle set, posted after recovering from the seizure induced by J98's Typhlosion.

Do yourself a favor and use this guy in the Sun with Lava Plume team support. Everything besides Eruption (which kills everything in the universe) is coverage.

Typhlosion (M) @Passho Berry / Wide Lens
Trait: Flash Flare
Nature: Hasty
EV's: 252 Spd 252 Sp.Atk. 4 Hp

  • Eruption- STAB, High power if used early
  • Focus Blast- Coverage but low Accuracy
  • Sunny Day- Speeds up Solar Beam
  • Solar Beam- Coverage against Water Types

Item Information:
The Passho Berry is In-case It gets hit with a Water Type Move
when you are using Sunny Day.

Typhlosion is better with a Sp.Atk Move than a physical move like brick break so If you used a wide lens it would help with Focus Blast's bad Accuracy

Typhlosion was my starter Pokemon, so I taught him a really good move set

If yours has a Sp.atk. nature:

Item-Power Herb

Eruption-high damage at the beginning + STAB

Solar Beam-covers all three weaknesses, high power and accuracy

Focus blast-fighting type moves are always a good choice

Over Heat-low HP, when Blaze activates, final attack (probably)

Here's a physical move set:

Same item and ability

Fire punch-Stab/Flare Blitz-STAB, helps Blaze activate

Earthquake-takes out rock types, always a good move

Wild Charge-takes out water types, recoil helps activate Blaze/or Thunderpunch

Solar Beam-Only move in Typhlosion's move pool that deals with ground types

Hi all, I'm new here, but my Typhlosion and I have won many of many battles and his moveset is beast.
Typhlosion's Moveset:

I use Eruption at the beginning of the battle since its power is based of HP.
I use Thunderpunch for Type difference and cause its awesome.
I use Earthquake because its a long ranged Ground type move and it works well with a Flying Type, a Pokemon with the Ability Levitate, or a Pokemon with the move Magnet Rise.
And I use Flamethrower because it is a good Fire Type move with a lot of power and its good for the one's you want to beat but don't need the power of Eruption.

[email protected] Orb Ability:Blaze Nature: Adamant
Moves:Flamethrower(Very strong, recieves STAB and Sunny Day power-up)

           Sunny Day(For SolarBeam and Flamethrower)
           SolarBeam(Complete type coverage)

Sunny day= for solarbeam

Solarbeam=for coverage and good with Sunny day

Double-Edge=for blaze

Flamethrower=good power and the best fire move in my eye

An all out sweeper with coverage and lots of power! The best set I have.

Typhlosion- Special Attacker
Item: Choice Specs
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Modest

-Eruption- STAB, deals more damage the more health you have left. If Typhlosion is at low health and Eruption is becoming weak, switch him out.
-Focus Blast- Coverage, 10% chance of lowering Special Defense.
-Flamethrower- If Eruption is losing power, use Flamethrower instead, 10% chance of a burn.
-Extrasensory- Coverage, 10% chance of causing the opponent to flinch.

This is my own personal moveset for my favorite fire starter

Item: Power herb/Life Orb
Nature: Modest
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Satk, 252 Spd, 4 Hp
Fire Blast
Solar beam
Focus Blast/Extrasensory
Eruption/Hp Ice

Now I'm sure some of you automatically wrote off this moveset because of the inclusion of Fire Blast rather than flamethrower because of the "risk" but in my personal opinion, if you want to use Typhlosion the way he was meant to be used (as a special attacker) you need to take risks like using fire blast or focus blast. Because the thing about Typhlosion is that he doesn't have the defensive capabilities to use "safe" moves like Flamethrower. My point is Typhlosion is a risky Pokemon to use, but those who risk, may come out with a reward. Also for those wondering about the life orb suggestion, I only recommend that if you're pairing Typhlosion with a Pokemon with drought (i.e. Ninetales/Mega Charizard Y
